| Okay, just wondering…..would you rather book a 5 star resort with a 3 star beach or less?…..or 3 star resort with a 5 star beach?We definately love our nice beaches…..and I can cope with a 3 * resort usually no problem.

3* with 5* beach for me as well. Beach is place where I spend most of my vacation time. Room I need to sleep and regarding food there is always something good to eat at any resort I have been so far. Anyway if food is not great local restaurant or paladar will have me as their guest for a few days ![]("http://images.proboards.com/v5/smiley/smiley.png") so beach is the top priority for me. |

| It is interesting that in this thread we all like 3 star hotel with 5 star beach I guess for most of us reason to go on the vacation is beautiful beach! |

3* with 5* beach – hands down. Not only is this our preference but we find the guests at a 3* somewhat more relaxed/casual as opposed to 5* clientelle. |

for me a clean hotel is critical…. beach is an asset but I would go for the better hotel and the lesser beach. |

3Star resort and 10Star beaches. Pretty hard to beat these last two weeks at Cayo Largo. |

Another for a 3* with a 5* beach…just stayed at Hotel Internacional which fits that description, and I didnt even set a toe in the pool because of the beach. First time in any trip that was the case!! |

I would also go for the better beach. However, I might also book a three star over a five star on the same beach. With the price differential I have money left over for whatever catches my fancy, or I can just bank it for my next vacation. Bonus, I have always had a lot more fun at the lower star rated resorts! And frequently better service as well. I can skip a few amenities and a greater selection of food in exchange for better company and staff who see me, not just the size of my wallet. ![]("http://images.proboards.com/v5/smiley/wink.png") |
