I travelled with a group of 15 students doing a research on various geography related topics from a university in Canada. We arrived a day before planned and were welcomed with open arms (and pouring rain). Despite the fact that the resort is smaller and less glamorous than many, we were very well taken care of. The rooms were clean and the owners were more than happy to help us with everything from extra towels to interesting places to visit and even research for our thesis’. The on site restaurant had great food and although there isn’t a pool the beach is only about 15 meters away. Many rooms had kitchenettes and there was a grocery store about 2 min away which helped us keep costs down. At night, beach bars were set up within walking distance from the hotel all along the shore. Great fun! I would recommend this resort for people looking to see a more authentic side of the Dominican Republic. Obviously use caution as tourist areas often attract petty criminals who prey on the drunk and oblivious although we got hassled more in Punta Cana than in Cabarete. All in all, a great family owned/operated hotel in a very under rated city in th DR.

One word to describe this is that it is your best option financially if you are looking for a place near the beach. It is one of the cheapest places to get accommodation on the beach for just $40 bucks, you can get an air conditioned room and all that comes with it. Initially I thought because it was kind of cheap, I may not get all that I need but I was wrong and I enjoyed every minute of my stay here. I don’t think any hotel in the area can beat that price and still offer you quality service. In my opinion, I think it is a hidden gem in the Cabarete that people don’t know about that much. The services from the staff were extremely amazing right from the front desk where I met Rafael and Joseph to the owner known as Peter ORR. Claire and Claudia in the Cafe were amazing and nice to me. The location is great as there is a major grocery store just on the corner of the hotel and the beach is just right at our door step. It doesn’t get any better that in my opinion. It is a great place to stay and I enjoyed every bit of my stay here and will be back for another visit whenever I am in town. What amazed me more is the price tag here, I mean the hotel is very close to a popular beach and yet the price was very reasonable.
