Hate to bother with questions, but being a newbie to Cuba, want to make sure I have all the bases covered…Is smoking generally allowed on resorts in Cuba? All the public area’s, beaches, pools, show’s etc?I have never taken a power converter on a trip south and have been able to use my mp3 player, charge my camera battery etc. Is it going to be any different here?No matter what flight your on, you need the $25 cuc at the Cuba airport to get out of the country?Generally speaking, most of the resort workers only speak Spanish, or will some/most speak English as well?
Thanks for any info in these areas. Once I am there and have returned, then I will be able to share my experience and knowledge as well……. |

![]() Thanks for any info in these areas. Once I am there and have returned, then I will be able to share my experience and knowledge as well……. O.K…..smoking generally not allowed in enclosed restaurants. Other places, probably, depends on the resort.Power converter…..likely needed if your toys are not dual voltage…..but most if not all are these days, check the label.25 CUC airport tax, yes. Put it with your passport on the first day and you will have it handy when you leave. Many workers, not all, speak English to some degree. |

There’s a great section full of helpful tips here: debbiesreviews.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=faqSmoking, power adapters and language is very similar to PC.Food is different depending on the resort. Quite different than the US style we enjoyed in DR and Cayo Coco is a real treat with the airport so close.Seduced away from the Dark Side, eh? Have a great trip. |

Thanks for the info and thanks for the links…Glad to hear there are some similarities to the DR…..and yes, I have been tempted away from the Dark Side..lol. Although I tried Jamaica this year and still prefer the DR.
So we will see what Cuba holds for me…love the look of the beach, like the airport so close, like the price, so its a good start…… |
