Big BUBBA | Debbie's Caribbean Resort Reviews Forums

I bought hubby a couple of small bubbas for Christmas for our next trip down. He in turn bought me a pair of big BUBBA’s, I think they’re the 1.5 l or something. We had a good laugh about our presents.I can’t seem to figure out what the use of the Big Bubba would be for. I can’t picture getting that much beer or a drink that size to go. The small one’s are plenty for that. So, is there any use anyone can think of for the big ones? Thanks

  • wine cooler, if you like to keep a chilled bottle of white in your room
  • great for packing loose cigars in to bring home

Those mega Bubbas make a great emergency pottie if you’re traveling with a toddler/young child being toilet trained. ;D

Look at it this way, you are sitting at the pool with two other couples. You being the hospitiple individual offer to go up to the bar to get beverages. You all want Banana Mamas, so instead of trying to bring back two small plastic cups each, do the math, twelve little plastic cups. You get six empty cups and put all that marvalous drink inyour big bubba. When you return you pour away. Next round? keep your cups and get Bubba refilled. Not only is it easier, but the enviormental aspect is huge. ;D

speaking from experience, jethro?!!!
oh yeah.Proud Bubba user since 2005.Be part of the Bubba Nation…….lol.

TRYP CAYO COCO 2005

I even recruited a friend to the Bubba Nation……haha

Playa Coco 2006

Jethro, I like your thinking. I can see the endless possibilities now.

Thanks

Nice photos jethro! You look very familiar. Did you by any chance use a large Tim Hortons drink container before you switched over to a mega Bubba?
No, never had one of the Huge Timmies Mugs, although people think I have shares in Tim Hortons….lol.You always see me with one when I’m home, but just a regular large coffee.

Ever been involved in Motorsports you might know me…

Ever been involved in Motorsports you might know me… That could be it!

Do you have one of those large Nascar thermal mugs?

Haha, no. I’ve always had a Bubba.
We are usually at a race track racing, don’t get a ,lot of time to spectate

Ok, I was gonna ask in regards to the bubbas. We have always taken a 20 oz bubba. My wonderfull wife just bought a new bubba pkg that came with a 52 and a 20 oz bubba. I was concerned i might look piggish if i had that 52oz bubba at the resort? After seeing Jetrho’s pix i think I am ok? Any comments?

It’s your vaation, so don’t worry what others may think.Don’t worry if people think, "Whoa he’s been up to the buffett, 3 times!", Don’t worry if people think "That’s his third irish coffee!"

As long as you’re not rude or intoxicated all the time, who’s to care. Have a blast and bring your Bubba, leave it as a tip, trade it with a local vendor for some of their wares, or give it to a gardener, empty of course……. ;D

Just got back from our 4th trip to Cuba (Brisas Guardalavaca)and have taken a Big Bubba (BB )since trip 1.We use ours as a mini cooler. When we go to the nightly stage show we fill the BB with Kristal and use it to refill our cups during the show. We never have to leave or seats to get a cold one.It also makes a great trade item or just a gift to a favourite bar tender. Packing wise… we fill our’s with socks or underwear to maximize space. Of cousre washing is manditory afterwards… haha.We have always run into fellow vacationers that ask us where we got our BB’s. They are always dissapointed to find out they are not available locally. We thought next time it might be neat to pass on our BB to a vacationer our last day there. Sign the BB then past it on with the proviso that they do the same. Next time you go to a resort you might see several BB’s with signatures from all over the globe.

We will always travel with a BB.

Great Idea vacubacation, we have done similar. We take a few dollar store travel mugs, bubba keg wannabes…..lol.
I have given those away to other travelers who we have met that are in dire need of kepping their drink cold. I recall a freshly tattooed Scotsman at Tryp Cayo Coco back in 2005, I believe Ian was his name. He nearly cried when I gave him a small insluated mug, keeping a Scots beer cold is nearly as important as keeping a New Scots beer cold….Nova Scotian that is…………..haha. ;D

Thanks for the link phlatlandersSure were lots of opinions on the Bubba.

I think we will take one donw and use it as a refiller during the shows or even trips off the resort.

O.K. for carnivals – give them away as a tip !!!

we returned a cpl weeks ago from Samana DR..well I have a 34 oz bubba and whike walking out of the beachside grille a woman said "gluton" to me..hehe I wanted to take the lid off and dump it on her as all I has in it was ICE WATER. >:(!! But I just kept going..no need to explain myself or care what she thought..many ppl think that the bubba’s are full of alcohol..not always ;D

I certainly dont say things to others about how much food they are taking from the buffet or how much they drink..it’s their holiday… I would mind my own business..happy travels to all

At the Playa Pesquero about 75% of all the Canadians there had a Big Bubba, including myself.
I have a 34 oz bubba and whike walking out of the beachside grille a woman said "gluton" to me That? Is just plain ignorant. I’m always amazed when I see that kind of wholly unprovoked behaviour. Why on earth would anyone care enough to be that rude?

heh.

Right on.

i guess its just me but when i go on vacation i never notice what mugs people have or how much they drink or how much food they take or eat i just don’t pay attention to such trivial things or do i care less i am on vacation with my wife and all i care about is we have a good vacation and use our 20 oz bubba mugs and give then away on our last day and i don’t care what people think of me either

lovethesummer, you will find ignorant and rude people everywhere…(likewise you will find far more nice and good people in the same places :-*) and the way you handled the one you describe reminds me of a quote that I try (although sometimes it’s difficult ::)) to make part of my life experience: "The test of good manners is to be patient with bad ones". …and YOU passed the test Happy New Year mi amiga!
