I came to San Andres and became enchanted with the Island and its people and now live here. When I first arrived here I lived at several different Hotels and one private home. The best place I found for me was located on the South end of the Island called the Blue Cove. I spent several weeks there. and had a great time. Its about 20 minutes from the airport (The Hotel van will come and get you if you tell them when you expect to arrive. Its Free) The rooms were clean with air conditioning, flat screen cable TV. The price included all meals, snacks during the day, all the Hard and soft drinks you can consume and a wonderful staff who are mostly" ISLANDERS" who speak English. (Most of the high price Hotels at the North end do not speak English and there staff are 95% Spanish speaking mainland born Colombians who prefer to cater to Colombians only. ) The manager of the Blue Cove Judy Ward will do almost anything to make your stay pleasurable. There is a Restaurant, a Sea side bar and a sea side Hot tub pool. Its a small Hotel at this time only 44 rooms. They also have a dive and snorkel shop, Spa, and Kayak rentals. Buses stop in front and can take you down town shopping. The view and sea is the best on the Island. Also very quite. The best part is the price 90,000 pesos or about $45.00 US per day depending on the season. I have posted some pictures and would be happy to send more if asked. Also I have a lot more first hand info about this Island and its original people. You can email me at Jeep2006@live .com for more info.
