Anyone been to this resort lately (or be there when we will!). Going with 2 teenagers and wondering what the best one day excursion would be (jeep?). Don’t want to give up too much beach time so would like to commit to one day only! |

I wish I was!! Great resort… enjoy the pizza’s at the lunch buffet on the beach. I know lots of people who greatly enjoy the jeep safari but personally I found it a bit boring… I enjoy the catamaran much more! But you will have fun no matter which one you do! |

| i agree go to havana, take a taxi to the viazul bus station and then the viazul will take you into havana. remember , 1 km in varadero in a taxi will cost $1 cuc

When we went to Varadero we asked the lobby bartender ( a great conection for many things ![]("http://images.proboards.com/v5/smiley/wink.png") )And he hooked us up with a friend with a mini van taxi, he took us to Havana and gave us the guided tour, in the van and on foot, we had lunch in a local restaurant, and weren’t bothered too much by the beggars that will swarm the tour buses.
We got to go places the tour buses wouldn’t fit and seen some cool hidden areas of Havana. |

| jethroLeaving on Sunday…how much did the private tour cost? Interested in doing something like this, although we are two single ladies travelling without kids and hubbies, so a touch nervous about doing something private rather than with the tour.
Also do you remember is there were any 1/2 day snorkling excursions? |

We did a similar tour the first time we went to Havana, we found a lifeguard that did tours, just ask around, he was very protective of our whole family while in Havana.This past month we went to Havana again, this time on a plane, then a bus with a tour guide, we were not harassed by beggars, we had a bunch of overdressed ladies in the main square kiss us on the cheek and ask for money to help restore the buildings (apparently this is government sanctioned) a guy in the square draw our picture and then try to get you to take it and if you do he then asks you for money so we didn’t take it, and a 10 or 12 year old kid put his hand out and when we said no he walked away. Trust me, I hate being accosted by beggars, and this didn’t bother me a bit, try going to St Lucia, now that is a PITA Any way, Havana is a great city to visit, and I’ll go back a third time |
