Captain Cook Reviews – Dominican Republic Restaurants – Captain Cook

In 2004, for my first time in DR, I went to Captain Cook and had kept a great souvenir of our barefoot-in-the-sand dinner. We decided to go back this year and were so disappointed. The prices for 1 lobster for 2, are much more important than in our 5* hotel (there for unlimited lobster dinner). The restaurant was a mess and nearly empty, much more staff or vendors than customers, no more tables in the sand. We had a small lobster for 2 + a little piece of tuna (served with good potatoes and salad)+ 1 coke + 1 Presidente for about 110$.

Much too expensive … tuna was perfect but that’s all ….

Other Comments:
We were used to do some shopping in El Cortecito before going to Captain Cook but now El Coretecito looks like a ghost town, the supermarket is closed so it seems there’s no life anymore around there (except souvenirs vendors without any customers)
