The same thing happened to me after a leisure stay in Colombia. I was forcibly X-Rayed under the threat of indefinite arrest, reminded that I had no rights since I was not in the United States. There is no country in the world that forcibly X-Rays their tourists under threat of arrest, exposing their internal organs to all kinds of increased cancer risk without their consent. Due to this experience and the rampant violent crime, I will never set foot in Colombia again. Travelers Beware!

Having returned from Cartagena yesterday, the most memorable part of my trip was being forcibly x-rayed at the airport by the security detail. Given my extreme objections to signing the "voluntary" consent to a full body x-ray, they told me I was under arrest, indefinitely, unless and until I signed the consent and subjected myself to the x-ray.
The hotel is o.k., but I will not be returning to Colombia
