I stayed at Chabil Mar for five days in November. This resort is beautiful! My villa were wonderfully decorated and furnished with local Belizean art and had a private veranda overlooking the Caribbean. The service was impeccable from the time I arrived and all throughout my stay. What I liked so much was that it was just a walk along the beach to get to the village and all of the culture this quaint village of Placencia had to offer, the size of the resort (small, intimate yet modern), the incredible pools and gardens as well as the meals. The staff here made me feel so welcome. When I arrived I was immediately given a cool lemonade and mint scented towel and while my bags were being taken to my villa I received a very nice personal tour of the property. In my villa the A/C was on, a fresh vase of flowers were on the kitchen counter along with some chocolates and a personalized greeting card. Flowers adorned the bath and pool towels and a "Chabil Mar" robe was in my closet for use during my stay. First class all the way. The staff treated us like royalty! Delivered food and drinks to us anywhere and anytime I wanted, always with a smile. In the morning, out on the veranda we had our breakfast each morning. These were the most pleasant resort staff I have ever encountered. Just fantastic. I can’t say enough about how well we were taken care of. They booked our tours to the jungle and snorkeling and fishing. We didn’t have to lift a finger for anything. When we wanted to go into the village to try out the restaurants, bars and gift shops there, all we had to do was walk along the beach or use one of Chabil Mar’s bikes. We could come and go so easily since it was so close but would just hang out at Chabil Mar’s pools and beach when we wanted time alone.
Chabil Mar is beautiful, has great service and is the best location I could have hoped for in Placencia Village. I would recommend this place to all, especially my family and friends.
Arrival:
The most exquisite arrival service I have ever encountered. Ever!
Rooms:
Very spacious with modern amenities, villa style, free wireless internet right in the villa and throughout the property, TV, A/C full sized kitchen. Very spacious and king sized bed.
Restaurants and Bars:
On Site bar for private use of guests. Village of Placencia had many options. Some of my favorites were La Dolce Vita, Rumfish, Barefoot Bar, Pickled Parrot, Yoli’s, Tutti Frutti.
Beach/Pools/Grounds:
Two large infinity swimming pools and private beach which was groomed each and every day. Impeccable, with cushioned lounges and bar and food service to my lounger. I didn’t have to lift a finger if I didn’t want to.
Activities on and off the Resort/Hotel:
Jungle, snorkel, fishing and mayan ruin tours. Favorites were Monkey River Howler Tour and snorkeling at Laughing Bird Caye and fishing was phenomenal. I heard that Belize was a world renowned fishing destination. I now know why.
Other Comments:
Pampering is the order of the day here. They really know how to do it right too!
