Only a few international tourists on Vancouver Island !!! Auto indusrty in Toronto big problems – fishing and forestry in big troube in B.C. – construcion in B.C. / Alberta is winding down – it will a no work winter for many in the U.S. and Canada !!!

The automotive plants making small fuel efficient cars are not having big problems… however those making gas hogs ( trucks especially) are… not the manufactures mistake as the public was demanding these vehicles until the last round of price hikes in gasoline.

Myself I see nothing new in the article that you link to… airline ticket prices have held steady for far too long… something had to give and the fuel increase has made that happen.

Fuel prices (and several other lesser factors) are finally giving us a cruel wake-up call that’s long overdue. It’s a different world now and it’s time to get used to it…

Very informative article Yukon Wolf. Thanks very much for posting. I don’t know it all as I am not a Senior member of this board and appreciate your post.

The auto industry in Toronto is in no problem at all, because there is no auto industry in Toronto. The auto industry in Oshawa, the auto industry in St. Thomas, the auto industry in Windsor all have huge problems.

I flew from London Heathrow to Toronto Pearson late March this year, via Air Canada at a cost of £318 ($623.00). This week, I booked up the same flight for early July at a cost of £641.00 ($1243.00).

I was then sent a mail by AC saying that if I am travelling after July 15th, there will be an additional $25 charge should I wish to take 2 items of luggage……certainly crazy prices right now or maybe more realistic !!

And not all Senior members know it all either. I don’t go "digging" (or even looking) for this kind of info – so I appreciate it when folks post links to information that might be of interest to others. Thanks Yukon Wolf.
