General Info Needed! | Debbie's Caribbean Resort Reviews Forums

Hello, My finance and I are looking at a destination wedding in Cuba, where we got engaged. ;DWe have no idea how much planning is involved, how much we are looking at cost-wise. I have a general idea aout documentation requirements, gov’t websites are extremely informative. It’s just the planning. We hope to be wed next summer. When do we start planning? We will be bringing 3 of our own kids with us (at the time of the wedding their ages will be 15, 10, 5)Any help is greatly appreciated!!Thanks!2010Bride2B
It all depends on what you have in mind and what options are available to you at the resort you choose. With all our extras it cost us $1000 CUC for our wedding at the resort above of course the cost of the trip. That included, our private ceremony on a different beach than the hotels, the band, the fees, flowers, cake, my hair. Some resorts may offer a package with stuff included.First figure out what hotel you would like to wed at and then you can start contacting the wedding coordinator at that resort and start your planning now. At least that’s what I did and I know others have. They will go over everything probably the day after you arrive to make sure you’re both in agreeance to what’s going on.For the documents if both of you are single, just need your passports but if one or both of you has been divorced you will need to get those specific documents translated and legalized by the consulate. And they MUST be valid within 6 months of your wedding date. Otherwise they will be null and void.Hope that helps if you have any other questions. I have pics from my wedding in my avatar if you wish to take a look.

Congrats and happy planning

I would recommend you start planning now. We booked in September of 07 for our May of 08 wedding. We were married at the Iberostar Varadero. As with Bluesunset, cost was around $1000 for everything. I started by deciding on a resort, then contacting a couple travel agents to get the best price, plus any extra discounts, for example we got 1 person free for every 20 people who booked. Then you get in touch with the resort’s wedding co-ordinator once you’ve booked the resort. The paperwork was emailed to me by the resort’s co-ordinator and very easy to complete. I completed it, scanned it and emailed it back to her. You can PM me if you have any questions.Best wishes!

Hello we are planning on "renewing" our vows (we have been married 35 years) we would be doing this in Nov/2011 , we plan on having it at Iberostar Varadero. We are going to be staying there this Nov. also. What I would like to know is if they have different packages available at different costs i.e no band etc. Also would there be any extra costs to our guests (who would be booking their own rooms at the same hotel)? Any help would be welcomed.
Thanks

That is probably going to be expensive. I hope you manage to get everything sorted out though.
