Gran Bahia Principe Tulum Reviews – Mexico Hotels – Gran Bahia Principe Tulum

The grounds at this resort are very clean and tidy. The hotel room at the Tulum was not anything special, but it was kept very clean. The tv was small and had poor sound to it. My biggest complaint was the food. The food was of good quality, but it was Cold, and I mean cold. I have travelled throughout Mexico for the past 25 years and this is the first time I approached my airline representative to complain. I also left a letter to the Manager. There were even two mornings that the coffee was cold and this was freshly poured at 7:30 in the morning. Sometimes there were also a lot of empty dishes on the buffet table without being replenished. The breads and pastry buns, however are a complete different story. Absolutely divine. Many varities of breads and buns, soft dough, chewy crusts. This was the highlight of the buffet. The restaurants were alright, nothing overly special, the special daily drinks were a nice touch, but the main course was rather skimpy and dull looking, could use some improvement here too. Heads up, the hotel safe key in your room, this is an extra $5.00 per day. Give yourself lots of time on the day, you leave, my husband telephoned the porters twice to come and pick up the suitcases, as check out is 12 noon. It took them over 1.5 hours to come to our room. When we telephoned the desk once more we were reminded that time spent in the room after 12 noon is subject to a $10.00 per hour fee, even though we started to telephone the porters shortly after 11 a.m. The alcoholic drinks are also of poor quality. I think the bar was using asparatame in the drinks as they were deathly sweet. the Singapor Sling and Rum punch were awful. The red wine at dinner was o.k. Mixed reviews from this traveller, Tulum states they are a 5 star hotel, I think they are no more than 3 stars unless they can get their act together. The golf — Great course, however do not expect to be able to pick your own tee times. Make your times as soon as you arrive otherwise you will not have any choice of time or perhaps not even have a tee time for that whole day. Golf carts are $65.00 per person. Even if you do not golf and want to ride with your friend or spouse, you will be charged the full amount of the cart

fee. No exceptions allowed.
