Yes i know im getting screwed I havent booked anything yet for the cake. I keep trying to find another baker in the area, but no luck so far. Has anyone found a baker other than the hotels?
I guess you could always tell them that you have a quote from somewhere else at a price you are willing to pay and see if that works
I’ve been working with Mayte and she is VERY responsive and helpful. The quote for transportation is through Star Bus ($5/pp roundtrip).
Regarding the cake, I asked her for a strawberry shortcake or angelfood cake (our FAVE!) and she is investigating the most affordable options. We are having roughly 50 guests.
Can anyone give me an idea of how much it costs to have a private dinner at this restaurant?
Dinners are $30, $40, $50 or $60 per person dependinh on which meal you choose. Open bar is $10, $15 or $20 per person per hour depending on level of liquor provided.
She sent the pricing to me in Excel, so I can email it to you … or if you email jellyfishrestaurant@gmail.com they are very responsive.
Hey Guys. I just found out Mayte is now helping Marcelle and Gabriel with the wedding stuff, i think thats why we are getting such great responses now. Before it was just the husband and wife and i can only imagine how hard it would be to run a restaurant and do all the private party and event planning. I am SOOOO happy they have more lending hands now.
Hello,
Does anyone have information about having their actual wedding ceremoney at the JellyFish restaurant?
Thanks,
Patricia

Now that I know noting about. Let us know what you find out. Our plansre already set but I’d still be interested to know what they offer and the cost.
Hi ladies…
Looks like the Jellyfish finally has their site up!
www.jellyfishrestaurant.com
Yeah! Glad to see it’s finally back up and running!
Hi there, I’m looking at getting married at the Jellyfish in June. I actually went down to visit a few weeks back. It looked very cute. I am also speaking with Mayte, but am looking for advice on the pricing. My last email from her on the cocktails was it would be 20 dollars for premium liquor per hour. I want premium alchohol but it seems that $80 (4 hours) just for alcohol per person is very high. Anyone have any advice or get any other pricing on this. Is anyone getting married at the Restaurant or are at the hotel. I’m probably getting married at the Majestic, and was looking into doing dinner there but frustrated by the lack of response. Quite honestly, I think the Jelly Fish is so cute it might be nicer anyway.

The pricing I got from JellyFish was very similar to the resort pricing, but that open bar pricing does seem high. We’ve decided to just do everything at the resort, but during our honeymoon (when we’ll be staying much closer to JellyFish – walking distance) we will have a nice meal or two there.
Alison: Was the bus necessary? I heard the restaurant is right next to the Melia – let me know
Thanks
Hey Alison,
So how many guests did you have … as well as how many tables did you have to pay for linens for?
I’m trying to tally up a total cost to see if it’s worthwhile for us.
Right now, we are having our reception at PPC, which means we would need the bus … but honeymooning at PPR, so we could walk.
We will be going to jellyfish regardless, but the reception option is a great one if the price is comparable to what I’m paying at PPC.
hulaqt – can I please get the menu and prices too?!
thanks in advance!
We had 40 guests including us. We had 6 tables broken up into tables of 6 and 8. They have tables than can seat 4, 6 or 8. We also had our own sweatheart table for 2, so 7 tables in all. You dont have to have linens though. The tables and chairs are all rettan and the table tops are glass…very nice.
I thought the bus was necessary. We had some older people with us and there is no way they could have walked in the sand for 10 mins from the melia to the Jellyfish. Also we had our ceremony at the Gazebo at the Melia which was already about a 15 min walk to the beach. The Gazebo was right by the lobby and all of guests were able to walk about 200 ft to the bus. Additionally you need to think about walking there with heels, etc. Its very warm and i know our guests appreciated the bus.
I know you all are dying to see photos, so i uploaded 22 photos that friends took. Click on the link and view the slideshow. At the very bottom of every photo there is a caption that says what the pic is of. I put on there pics of the ceremony, reception and beach shots to compare the Melia to the Jellyfish beach. All other photos will be up this weekend and i will post a new link.

allison – as you are the only one who can really help because you’ve done it there!, can you please tell me which “bar” you used. We would like to take the 10$ one, but what if our guests want something that is not included…? can they pay to have it?
or perhaps one of you ladies has already asked them…! please let me know!
Hi-
The link to the pictures is not working. Did you remove the pictures?
