littlel 2008-11-21 23:01:22 UTC #163

dboogie82 – I received your invoice thank you so much. I also emailed Mayte last night requesting mine and she emailed it to me today – how quick was that – I was really pleased. My invoice shows exactly what we have talked about – no hidden extras!!

I still need to decide on a cake – have any of you girls had any prices on cakes yet?!?!?

dboogie82 – Would you mind sending me a copy of your invoice/spreadhseet of costs as well? Just wondering if you are having the ceremony at Jellyfish as well? I have been adding things up for the meal and open bar and I just realized the open bar price is per hour. Are you having this option? My email is achatwood27@yahoo.com Thank you.

Drea & Hamilton – I just emailed you a copy. Sorry it took so long.

Since I am having my ceremony at the Melia, as far as cakes go I AM taking mine from the Melia whether they like it or not – right moepeedy! So I shouldnt have to worry about purchasing a cake.

I am doing the $10 per hour open bar. My final count is now at 75 people. I had a few change their minds due to the hard economic times for them. My wedding date is January 17th, 2009. I cant believe another month has passed!!! I’ve been wiring Mayte deposits so that I can at least have a bulk of it paid off before I get there.

Let me know if you need anything else! Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving as well!

hamilton – my wedding is 20th January and I only booked the Jellyfish in October. We have only really finalised everything in the last 2 weeks. Mayte is so helpful and really quick at replying. From my experience, she needs to know some things in advance like what (if any) flower centerpieces you want for tables and what cake you have in mind as she needs to order these in advance but she wants to meet with us a couple of days before the wedding to go through the table plans and other little bits and bobs.

Hope thats gives you an idea of what to expect…

dboogie82 – Just wondering if you can help me. I am going to wire my deposit money to Mayte in the next couple of days. She has sent me all the bank details but Im alittle confused by it all as its all in Spanish. Did you do it yourself or did you ask your bank to set up the transfer?!?!

If anyone has any advice Id be really grateful… thank you!

dboogie 2008-12-10 13:59:38 UTC #172

I went right through my bank to wire her money (There is a $40 one time fee through Citibank). I printed out the email she sent me with all the info and gave it to the teller at the bank. I also did it through my own internet through my banking website. My email wasnt in spanish? If you need any additional info let me know.

Hello Ladies,
I am not sure what is the Order of Service for the Symbolic ceremony. Are you gals writing your own or using melias words.

littlel 2008-12-12 01:28:54 UTC #174

dboogie82 – thanks for your help. I went to my bank and they said I need to get a whole load more information from Mayte before they can do the transfer?!?! Sooo frustrating as I really want to get this paid as the wedding is next month. The attachement Mayte sent me had 2 swift code options when transferring money from the UK – can i just chose one?? My bank said I need to know excatly what one to use.

I saw you had 4 options of swift codes when transferring money from US – did you chose citibank for any particular reason – is that who you normally bank with??

And is the account number the number that starts with an ‘N’ ??

Sorry for all the questions… my bank isnt very helpful and Mayte hasnt got back to me with any other information so im just in limbo at the moment :o(

Sorry to everyone else reading this as I know its not very interesting!!

No worries Littlel, actually this is good to know when my turn comes up I’ll know what to do.

moepeedy 2008-12-12 17:44:25 UTC #176

Just wondering if you put your itinerary together since we are having similar situations thought if you did and if it’s okay with you could you email to me. moepeedy@hotmail.com I can’t wait to hear your reviews as well as dboogie. Time is ticking! Yay!

dboogie 2008-12-13 13:59:20 UTC #177

Littlel- I used citibank because thats who I bank with. Im not too sure about transferring money from the UK but I do believe you can use either swift code, I only had one to choose from. However I dont have an account number that starts with “n” its a 9 digit number for the Banco Popular in DR. Let me know if you need anything else.

Hi everyone! I haven’t written on this forum for a while now, but I got married on the Jellyfish’s private beach and I had my reception there on April 20, 2008. In other words, we did EVERYTHING with the Jellyfish because their service was much better than the Melia and because we felt in love with Mayte. If I can tell you something, DO NOT WORRY about having no contract, or not hearing from Mayte for a couple days, or little things like that, because she really is on top of everything. You will be amazed with her professionalism on your wedding day. She wants YOUR day to be PERFECT. Our wedding was amazing and we would do the same thing again! ANYTIME!

Feel free to ask me any questions you might have regarding the Jellyfish. Email might be faster: sab_dussault@hotmail.com

Happy Holidays ladies!!
