Kid Friendly Resort | Debbie's Caribbean Resort Reviews Forums

Hello,I’m looking for some suggestions. We are thinking of going on an all-inclusive holiday (Jan, Feb or Mar) next year.We have two daughters 5 & 2.5 years old so basically we are looking for the best resort for them and we are pretty much open to where we go just want to be close to the beach and warm.

Thanks in advance for your help.

From our experiences, the Club Med family resorts are the best resorts out there for kids. The Ixtapa/Mexico one was recently very extensively renovated and has been really well reviewed by guests (check the reviews on TripAdvisor). The Cancun CM is also supposed to be very good (I’m going with my daughter in May), as are those in Punta Cana and I think Guadeloupe. The Iberostars in the Riviera Maya are very nice, as are the Marival (Nuevo Vallarta), and Melia & Crown Paradise Club (Puerto Vallarta Marina area). Too, Dreams (not cheap) a short taxi ride south of Puerto Vallarta town center is supposed to be good for families.Edited – I just noticed a good very recent review of the Ixtapa Club Med here on Debbies – look at:

Melia`’s offer flinstone land…it is pretty neat looking. Might be something you want to check out.Out of all the AI’s I have stayed at the Melia` seems to have the nicest kid club

TRYP Varadero is a great chidrens resort – it part of the Sol Melia chain.

I have two kids, now 7 and 10, and over the past several years we’ve stayed at the Riu Bambu in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. I’d highly recommend both resorts. They’re reasonable-priced all-inclusive resorts with great beaches (Jamaica beach was calmer and probably better for little kids), close proximity to the airport, and good kids’ activities. My daughter LOVED the "mini disco" every night at Riu Bambu. They’d play kids games and do all kinds of fun things on the stage. At the Holiday Inn the big hit was the little hut where you could walk right up and ask for ice cream or popcorn "and you don’t even have to pay!" my son says. My kids also loved the pedal boats and kayaks (free). Weather was perfect on both trips. We went in April each time. Now the search is on for a new family-friendly all-inclusive somewhere else in the Caribbean for April ’09. Any more suggestions??

Cheryl

Club Med Cancun – not cheap but worth every penny (look at my recent review also posted on Debbies). Suggest you watch the Club Med Canada or US website several months in advance and you may luck into a great sale since you travel somewhat out of season – then their prices become more reasonable.

Has Club Med in Cancun been renovated & name change???Haven’t seen it in any books as that???TY
