I went from Toronto Canada by Cubana Airbus to Havana in January 1999, to participate in a group bicycling trip across western Cuba.
One of the hotels included in the tour was Las Jazmines above the Vinales Valley. The hotel amenities were very good, the accommodations comfortable and clean, the service was very good, and the view of the foothills below were spectacular. The hills reminded me of some I’d seen in Colorado in the US. We visited a tobacco farm nearby, run by a 72 year old farmer who worked in the fields every day with his employees. He was in better shape than most 20 year olds. I would recommend this hotel and its local sites to anyone traveling through the Pinar Del Rio region of Cuba.
