We are travelling to cabo san lucas for the first time next week. Should we get our money exchanged at the airport or is it ok to use american currency.thanks

In main tourist areas you can use USD without any problem. We took a bunch of $1 USD bills for tipping. If you do need to get cash, try to use a bank-connected ATM instead of those free-standing ATMs as they charge crazy rates for exchange.
