As I saw on the forum, a lot of people are discussing some types of dances…Could somebody explain me what dances are popular in DR? Are they a part of DR national mentality? I love dancing very much and would like to try some dancing steps in national style.

Another dance that is very popular in DR and in other countries but comes from Dominican republic is Bachata!

One of the most popular bachata songs is by Aventura – Obsesion … song was popular all over the world and made Aventura well known band in the world:

In Dominican republic they love to dance Salsa and other dances as well and I am sure if you love to dance you will not stop dancing day or night !

Thank you a lot for useful information. I have just looked through videos, so now I have the general understanding about dances in Dominican Republic. Unfortunately, I am not a professional dancer, simply lover, but I am eager to try.

There will be lots of people willing to teach you, right on the dancefloor! Enjoy the experience and do not worry if you are good or not, no one will care. Locals love that you try, that is all that matters!

Its always fun to dance on vacation specifically if you go to all inclusive and eat all that food you have to find way to do some exercise and dancing is the best option!
