Old Reviews – Villa Taina

Villa Taina

Montreal, Quebec

February 2007
When booking my trip to Cabarete, I was disappointed not to find that much about Villa Taina so I thought I’d send you a review for future customers. From booking through internet until time to check out it was a fabulous experience. I received prompt reply every time I emailed for information, reservation and changes in our traveling schedule. That was a good start. When we arrived in mid-afternoon I still had my hand on the door handle that the gentleman at the front desk called me by my name. I was really impressed. The hotel is not that big… Just big enough (60 rooms maybe ?) But the service equals all larger, renowned chains. So you get a personalized service. We had a standard room on 3rd floor with a view on trees and next door building but it didn’t matter we spent so little time in the room mainly at night to sleep. The room are large enough, extremely clean, with all facilities. The shower was spotless with warm water at all time. We never had power shortage either. The entire hotel is spotless. The pool is average size but not that many people uses it. However it is really a nice pool surrounded by nice garden, also spotless. The beach front is just like heaven. Clean no matter what time. Enough lounge chairs for all the clientele of the hotel. You don’t have to run at 6h00 am to put your towel. Once they know your habit the beach service boys will set up your chair in advance. It is really worth the tip I was giving them as an appreciation every morning. I already miss my little friend Antonio. This child works on the beach daytime and goes to school at night. I wish some kids in Canada should be exposed to this to appreciate their easy life here. All the people at Taina are so kind and nice. Always around to help should you need the extra service. Restaurant, the Serenade offers an excellent menu and the food is of excellent quality. My husband suffer of a heart problem and they did everything to provide him with a meal that meet the diet requirements, and always with a smile. They also organize thematic nights where we did appreciate the BBQ buffet. Excellent! The clientele is rather older (mid 40 and up) mainly European (German, Italian, Polish) we were the visible minority – Francophone from Montreal – but it really didn’t matter. We were there to relax, enjoy the beach, the sun and the wind surfers. We give Villa Taina a 5 stars and thanks everyone there for this excellent vacation. My only complaint has nothing to do with the hotel. There are just too many vendors on the beach that bother you all the time!
