Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation. Your character is what you really are while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, totally worn out and screaming "WOOOOHOOOO, what a ride"!

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, totally worn out and screaming "WOOOOHOOOO, what a ride"! ;D ;D ;D….now I have a new fave!
Yeah, that IS a pretty good one!
What’s that one from Mark Twain about "don’t let something get in the way of your education" ?

I heard a good today: Growing old is like mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter! ;D

Someone on another forum has this as her tag line:"I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it."

Attributed to George Bernard Shaw. Seems very appropriate for internet forums.

PBS carried a concert of his from Londong (England) and he did the sang….fabulous. He’s been around forever ;D

LOL, clicked on the link and ended up with some "boy" group…don’t think they’ll have the same longevity

I have to ask: what does OT in the subject line stand for? I’m guessing it’s a texting abbreviation and I DON’T text ;D

I would assume "off topic".
The problem I find with the "off topic" forum is that I never remember to look here. My friends are on the Cuba board, and that is where I check. I would like to suggest there be an "off topic" sub category for Cuba, as there is a "Cuba meeting place", "help the Cuban people", etc. Then I would see the latest post from the Cuba off topic forum and get to participate, as would others who tend to check the "last post" but not the other forums on the board. So now I am "off topic" on an "off topic" thread. ;D

I will mention an "on topic" subject. Two musical pieces are far too few! I also love "Hallelujah" and I would like to mention pretty much anything by Al Stewart, but particularly "Time Passages". And "I Hope You Dance", as sung by Lee Ann Womack. And I could go on, but suffice it to say, two wasn’t nearly enough.

My favourite sayings is from the book Count of Montecristo by Alexander Dumas, (I’ll paraphrase)…

"Life is a storm, my young friend. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes. You must look into that storm and shout …. Do your worst, for I will do mine! "
