Ottawa unveils bill of rights for passenger | Debbie's Caribbean Resort Reviews Forums

I see there is nothing new – just an awareness campaign for what is currently existing. Must be an election coming up…The best insurance someone can have is to buy your travel through an agent in Ontario who is registered with TICO. All Ontario agents must be registered by law.Beware of internet purchases! If the company is not a TICO member, your money isn’t safe.

Even if you aren’t an Ontario resident, you and your money will be protected. The rules are that an agent cannot touch your money until all of your travel is completed. That way, if any or all of your trip cannot be provided, then the money is there for a refund.

You’ve got that right! Expect more "good news" announcements of this type. Unless you check carefully, you can easily be fooled into thinking the government has launched some sort of new initiative. IMHO, it’s very cynical to take credit for existing legislation on the eve of an election….but that’s politics! Caveat emptor.
