Palladium Vallarta Resort and Spa Reviews – Mexico Hotels – Palladium Vallarta Resort and Spa

Great time at this hotel, excellent food, top notch drinks and beautiful location.

Came in with Air Canada Vacations on a Rouge flight connecting in Montreal. First time on Rouge, upgraded to the extra room economy, lots of leg room and a few extra services above basic Rouge. Mexican immigration and customs has improved so the process was much quicker than the last time we were in Mexico. Quick ride to Hotel. Transfer was only for Palladium or Royal Suites guests no stops along the way. Check in was quick, cold towel and drinks offered while we waited.

Had a King room with a closed bathroom on the jungle side of the building. One side faces the Palladium disco so it can be noisy, our side faced the jungle, not much to look at but it was quieter. Large room with sitting area large TV (never turned it on) and DVD player, mini bar stocked with beer water, pop, candy and pringles. There are two coffee makers, a Nespresso and a regular drip machine, also you have the option to have liquor (vodka, rum, whiskey, tequila) in the room which we did but only had one drink from. While it might be nice at an all inclusive this small (100 rooms) you are never far from a bar. We had the ‘closed’ bathroom with large shower, Jacuzzi toilet and large sink with toiletries. Some rooms have Jacuzzi in the room with doors to the toilet area and shower. Everything was clean but could use a bit of an update, nothing broken just a little tired. Also had safe, hairdryer iron and board, really didn’t want for anything.

Restaurants and Bars: 2 bars (pool and lobby) and 1 restaurant on the Royal side for use by Royal guests only. Bars had top shelf liquor (Grey Goose, Ciroc, at least 10 tequilas, many different rums from all over the Caribbean and many kinds of whiskys (rye scotch bourbon) and liqueurs. They also had Dos Esquis on tap and many kinds of beer (Coors, Bud, Tecate plus Mexican micro brews in bottle or can). Bar tenders were top notch, remembering your drinks and always eager to offer suggestions or make a special request. The Royal restaurant was beside the pool was only a la carte for all three meals. Very good food changing daily for lunch and dinner. They would also accommodate special requests so if you wanted steak and lobster everyday they would make it for you. Breakfast was a fixed menu but you could customize. The kitchen also doubled as the snack bar during the days so you could have snacks delivered to your chair while at the pool or on the beach. The service was always excellent, the pool waiters were around making sure you were taken care of, very friendly. We also were able to use the Palladium side so we went to the buffet a couple of times for breakfast, it was fine a usual 4 star buffet. We also went to the Ribs and Steak, Italian and Mexican for dinner all good but the Mexican had the best food, service and decor.

Beach/Pools/Grounds: Beach on Royal side is small and rocky nice for sitting but not swimming red flag the whole week. There is a salt water pool which is a walled off section of the sea on the beach which is quite nice, about waist deep with small fish swimming about. The Palladium side has the nicer beach, wide, sheltered but busy. The water sports were there and there were a lot of surfers on one end of the beach. We only used the Royal pool a two level heated area with a great view of the ocean. There were numerous pools on the Palladium side that we walked around but didn’t use.

in the middle of the main resort there is a small zoo that houses some animals that are being re-habbed. It is an interesting distraction and different from most resorts.

Activities on and off the Resort/Hotel: Royal Suites was quiet, a few demos during the day (guacamole making, drink mixing, vegetable carving) but they had daily entertainment, acrobats, saxophone player, jugglers, magician etc that came for short sets. Main resort had the usual nightly shows we went to a couple the 80’s show with the live band was good. We did two external shows…the Crazy Bitches drag show at the Luna Lounge in Bucerias. Highly recommend it great dinner included funny adult themed entertainment. We alos did the Rhythms of the Night again very good boat ride to a secluded beach with dinner and show in the jungle.

Other Comments:
All in all l would recommend the place, great quiet adult resort with access to the main hotel if you want shows etc. Some of the best service we’ve ever had the only weak point is the ‘butler’ service. More like a concierge that is around some times but we never seemed to find him at his post. Because the place is so small(2 buildings) using the guest services in the Royal lobby was just as easy. Also they should change their music palylist at the pool we heard the same one every 2 hours for a week. Byran Adams really never loves a woman and Celine Dion’s heart will go on let me tell you.
