Paradisus Palma Real Reviews – Dominican Republic Hotels – Paradisus Palma Real

My wife and I stayed at the Paradisus Palma Real, The Reserve from Oct.31st to Nov.14th 2011. I have to start out by saying this place is a lot more upscale than we were used to when it comes to Dominican vacations. We were originally booked into the main hotel but a friend got us upgraded to The Reserve and what an upgrade. We ended up with a master suite in the family concierge section. The room was very large with a seperate bedroom with kingsize bed and a 32 inch flat screen, a seperate jacuzzi room, a seperate bathroom with a double sized shower, a seperate living room with two sofas and 32inch flat screen, and a seperate dining room. We had a back yard with a palapa which covered a double sized bed, two loungers, and patio with a jacuzzi and sitting area. Everything about this room was over the top. The service we received at The Reserve was beyond a doubt the best we have ever had anywhere we have stayed. These people could not do enough for us. All we had to do was ask and it was taken care of.The mini bar was stocked every day, and a Miami newspaper was delivered to the room every day. The young ladies at the family concierge desk took care of all our dinner reservations for us so we did not even have to do that. The drinks at any of the bars on the resort were bar non the best we have had at an all inclusive, as all drinks are made with premium alcohol. The food at the ala-cartes was mostly very good except for Bana which did a really poor take on chinese food. The best food was at The Gabi Beach restaurant. That is where the young ladies at the concierge set us up at for our anniversary. After a very nice lobster dinner we returned to our room to find a bottle of champagne and a bubble bath with rose pettles in the jacuzzi.I cannot express enough how awesome these girls were. While there we took in two shows, one was a dinner and show with the buffet in the theater hall and a cirque de sole show after that was quite good, the other was the Michael Jackson show that was terrible. They also had nightly shows in the Palma Real courtyard , some were good and some were not, one night they had a band singing english songs and they were very good. The buffet at this resort is also very good with good selection, they even had lobster one night. The pools were excellent, the ocean was so-so because it was not calm. This was a vacation we will not forget and I doubt we will ever top it as far as service and room quality go.

Arrival:
Our arrival was easy as we were the only people checking in at that time

We had room 5209 and it was an awesome master suite

The bars made the best drinks of any resort we have been to and the restaurant served top notch food

Beach/Pools/Grounds:
The beach was nice as The Reserve guests have thier own private area, the pools are excellent and the grounds are beautiful and wel kept

Other Comments:
We got excellent service from every person we came in contact with both at the Reserve and at the Palma Real. Every one was kind, well mannered and willing to help. The guys that drive the golf carts were a hoot, the maids did a fantastic job cleaning up after me,the concierge people always wanted to know if there was something they could do for us, the waiters in the ala-cartes were attentive and respectful, and the waiters at the breakfast buffet were a riot and a pleasure to see each morning. This may have been our once in a life time vacation because of these people and we cannot thank them enough for making our trip as good as it was.
