Premiere Hotel and Spa – Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Hotels – Debbie's Caribbean Travel & Resort Reviews

March 2003

We stayed at the Premiere the week of March 8th. We had a terrific flight to Puerto Vallarta on Air Transat and arrived in PVR by about noon. We took a taxi from the airport and were greeted at the hotel check in desk (there was no line up) with a cold, spice-infused towel to wipe our hands and faces and an ice-cold melonball cocktail.

Since we were early for check-in, we were told to take a stroll around the hotel and its facilities (spa, sauna, steamroom,, gym, restaurants, pool, etc.) We found everything to be spotless and lovely. Upon returning from our tour, we were informed that our room was still not ready but that another room with a jacuzzi on the balcony was available and would we care to take this room instead. Well, of course we did and was it ever beautiful. The room was spotless and mostly marble with a toilet and shower/bath in one room, a mirror and sink in another, and the bedroom separate from these rooms. Our balcony was huge (we had a table and two chairs as well as the jacuzzi, which filled in only 15 minutes and over-looked the beach.) We were also able to watch a few English channels on television which was nice when we just wanted to wind down at the end of an evening and see a bit of the news on CNN.

We only ate at the hotel restaurant for snacks (guacomole and chips, etc., and breakfast one day) so really can’t comment on the food, except to say that what we did eat was delicious, but the menu looked very appetizing every day. The service was also excellent. All the staff were smiling and happy and made us feel completely at home.

The pools were very nice, a little on the warm side for our liking, but we never complained having come from Canadian winter! One pool actually had seats built in at the pool bar so you could have your drinks and never get out of the water. We also loved the loungers they had around the pool. There were always enough chairs to go around, even though some people saved chairs early in the morning, and each chair had a specially-built visor that you could life in front of your face to block out the sun if you wanted to read or snooze and not have the sun in your eyes.

We cannot say enough good things about this hotel. We will definitely be going back next year.
