Hi everyone, I’m totally new here trying to plan my 1st trip south with my hubby for February. I noticed usually in the description they tell you how far away the resort is from the airport. If the airport is close, generally does that mean you would be disturbed by the airplanes going by? perhaps frequently?
Thanks

Hi sammgo and welcome to Debbie’s forum!! If the airport is close, generally does that mean you would be disturbed by the airplanes going by? perhaps frequently? It really depends somewhat on where you are planning to go and in what direction the airport runways are aligned relative to where the resorts are.Constant noise of airplanes taking off and landing was a definite problem at the Allegro Dorado in Puerto Plata, DR but I can’t honestly say it was an issue in Varadero, Cuba.
Where were you thinking of going for your vacation?

Hi sammgo and welcome to Debbie’s.Don’t rely on the resort info for accurate travel times from the airport. Our friends booked a resort 60 minutes plus from the airport and we booked one that said 70 minutes. Well, their’s was optimistic and took 1.5 hours and ours was just 25 minutes. So much for the advertisements. We’ll ask here first, next time.Santa Clara and the resorts on the Atlantic beaches require about a 2 hour drive. Maybe a little less by cab or a little more by bus. Beautiful beaches from what our friends have said.Like Cayo Largo, with more people. |
