Okay – we have it finally narrowed it down. We are booking here for 2 weeks, come the end of November. Can anyone tell me if the in-room safe is free??
I also figured out that the Tour Operator does provide shuttles from the airport to the Resort. duh!!!!This place has terrific reviews, so I hope it is all true. Really looking forward to fun and sun.

Adios Amigos/Amigas

Looks to be very nice. Enjoy

Hello
Heading to a destination wedding at Memories Cayo Coco this winter 2016 and we are wondering is it expected to give / bring a gift for the Bride and Groom. Is there some type of etiquette for destination weddings? I mean going there is actually a gift in its own but would like to know what others do.

Correct from Montreal with Cubana 23Kg and 7Kg carry-onSunwing Airlines from Montreal 20 Kg and 5 KG carry-on And the luggage allowance is awesome. Flying from Toronto, you get 46 KG checked and 10 KG carry on. That is per person! I think I read somewhere that flying from Montreal, you get 23 KG checked and 5 KG carry on.
Hello going to Cayo Coco in Nov 2015 and April 2016 If need be we can bring a suitcase.Al & Linda from Ottawa Hello everyone, please note that the Toronto group of NJT has restarted and is run by a very friendly and dedicated young man plus several supportive volunteers. They currently have an overload of suitcases, so anyone going to Cuba who has some luggage room can pick up a free suitcase and help the Cuban people.I’m packing the suitcases for NJT Ottawa and 99% of our carriers had excellent experiences (you may check our website to read their reports on the first page):

www.njt-pqt.org/english/view.asp?x=1

The only place where we don’t ship to is Holguin since we had many problems there with customs. We only send small packages, distributed throughout the carrier’s luggage, that are not flagged during X-ray upon arrival.Paperwork: We supply the carrier with a signed doctor’s letter in English and Spanish, emphasizing the fact that this suitcase is a GIFT, not an official donation for which different rules apply. We also give our carriers a print-out of the Cuban customs regulations that clearly state each visitor is allowed to import up to 10kg of medical supplies. Showing this letter to customs usually solves any issues (we encountered some customs officials who did not know about the 10kg rule). Also: if you don’t have room for a 10kg suitcase, we gladly supply you with a smaller bag from 1kg to 5kg.

For groups traveling, I’ll be happy to provide you with a first-aid kit for yourself (also free ).

I hope this helps. Please feel free to ask questions.

First off. We love Club Amigo Carisol los Corales; been there several times. Guaranteed great weather and great hospitality.

Cubana. We flew with them in February 2015 and a few more times prior to (from Montreal) and no issues and we always left on time and arrived earlier than scheduled there and back. The planes are not as new and clean as Sunwing but that did not bother us. Think washroom here (no seats or toilet paper )

Cubana serves Havana Club Rum in flight and Crystal beer. Sunwing doesn’t (that’s a Plus to us )

Your question: Has anyone flown with them recently? Bad? Good? or meh?Our Answer: good + you save 100 bucks and Hola Sun usually includes a free excursion with their package. value of 75+ CUC. IF we had the choice… we prefer Sunwing for many reasons including extra weight restrictions with an upgrade. We say. save your 100 bucks and go with Cubana. Its not as bad as some people say. Safe flight and safe travels and enjoy Los Coroles. You go once and will want to return.

Hope this helps.

no brainer! Club Amigo Carisol Corales. You will make friends like no other place. Good luck in your search. Hope our suggestion helps you out.
thanks Spunky that’s who I was thinking of. looks like his last post was in February 2015 so he is still around!
eeeefarm, wish I could help you, where is our diver from the Maldives. His user name evades me but I think his name is Terry bet you he would know.I have 30+ dives at this resort and snorkeled quite a bit in front by the big rock. Is that where you saw the "bobbit worm" or whatever it is? Definitely a new underwater species for me. The link you provided indicates that the worm is from Indonesia and the Phillipines. Would that make it odd to have one in the Caribbean. Once again great pictures in your album. so clear. thanks for sharing your diving experience. Hope someone out there can answer your question.
Flying out of Montreal for our next Cuba trip. Hoping someone here can let us know where the Caribe Sol counter is located at Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport so we can pick up our tourist cards. and do you pick up your card before you check your lugguage or after?

much appreciated!

Quote from our eDocuments

** TOURIST CARDS: PASSENGERS TRAVELLING WITH CUBANA MUST PICK UP THE TOURIST CARD AT THE CARIBE SOL COUNTER AT THE AIRPORT. FAILURE TO SHOW A VALID TOURIST CARD AT DESTINATION MUST RESULT IN EXTRA EXPENSES.TOURIST CARDS MUST BE FILLED OUT CORRECTLY, IF NOT, CUBAN AUTHORITIES HAVE THE RIGHT TO FORCE YOU TO PURCHASE A NEW ONE AT YOUR OWN EXPENSES CARIBE SOL IS NOT TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE AT ANY TIME.

Yes. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

We never had issues with bringing vitamins and medication to our friends in Santiago de cuba, Holguin and Cayo Coco. all large quantities from Costco.Hey we even brought them that huge container of Nutella from Costco in November 2014…. as if that would be for personal use for 7 days LOL!
Thanks for the link eeeefarm. interesting quotes: "An easing of US travel and trade restrictions on Cuba appears likely to lead to political convulsions in Havana at a time when the long Castro era is nearing its end. A flood of US investment in tourism is ready to transform Cuba’s tourism and agriculture, and, alas, seriously corrupt Cubans."and how true on this last one!

"Fidel Castro will probably spend his final days knowing that he and Cuba withstood all the wrath and fury of the United States, a Latin David and Goliath."

Our question is about the upgrade to the Diamond Club® package. We would like to know which block the rooms are locate in. OR Are all the rooms the same throughout the resort.Any info from previous guests of this hotel (Diamond Club® package) would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Friday! Four days and counting (and packing). Iberostar Tainos, Varadero, girls trip
Bon voyage
Recently read an article that the factory where Legendario is bottled may be closing. Best to stock up soon if you can. I am hoping there will still be some around in April! I’ll have to try and find the article for you. Thanks for the possible heads up… Heading to Cuba in 7 days so will make sure to pick some up. Would be a shame if they stop production.
ald1: do you want me to post on another forum? About 2 years ago, a lot of resort Cadecas were closed – no reason that I know of, but it was numerous. Much as I like CubaKing, fewer & fewer resorts have Cadecas. You may be able to change a 10 CUC note into 10 singles at the front desk. But they will not change CDN to CUC. Send a PM if you want me to do this. I’m surprised no one has come up with info for you. Thanks sund0g… no need to post on another forum… We were just curious to know of Memories Flamenco has a cadeca within the resort. We can always exchange at the airport when we land…

thank you,
