Check in was difficult. We had to pass on 4 different rooms due to mold on the walls in the bedrooms.
Once we settled in, the resort was nice, staff were fantastic, great sandy area on the beach. Food was ok, drinks were less than desirable. They had an icecream hut which was awesome I would go again if the price was right.
6 months later, I wanted a last minute cheap vacation and because I knew the resort was next door on a great stretch of beach, we stayed at Memories Varadero. The resort was massive, very little shade provided but great food and drinks. Check in staff did not understand English but we managed to communicate with drawings. Again for a great price, I would return. I love the Cubans but prefer luxury resorts.

The beach is small. The beach bar is the resto at the top of the beach. Not far at all.

Family going down for the Parapan games. I thought US dollars was fine but they heard only Pesos. Can anyone please confirm?
Thanks

Can anyone tell me the difference between a jr suite ocean view room and a deluxe ocean veiw room?
Thanks

I really liked Dunns Falls. It was fun. I used a local as a personal tour guide and really enjoyed it. We got to do what we wanted when we wanted.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 3 resorts. The hall has a childrens section but what is the difference between grand and suites? Is the beach as bad as everyone says. I have been to RUI Ocho Rios twice and to the grand palladium lady hamilton. Neither were great beaches.
Thanks.

They are u shaped buildings. Ocean view from all rooms. ocean view may be from an angle.

Thanks. I stayed at the RIU in OR and guests said it was nicer than Sandals. I’m disappointed that the Excellence stopped building so I’m searching for others.

Anyone able to recommend a great adult only complex in Jamaica?I prefer a NON nude resort and one with a private balcony jacuzzi would be a bonus.

Thanks.

Thanks. What is the difference between GP Jamaica and GP Lady Hamilton. They are one resort but separate? Any information you think is worth mentioning would be great. Is there an adult only section, if so where?

THanks again

Been to RIU Ochos Rios twice. You’ll love it.
I was hoping someone could share about the Grand Palladium as there are two sections and I had some questions. Thanks for the link to Trip Advisors. Any questions on the RIU, just ask.

Use a cab or go next door to the local bar on the beach and ask for Rupert. I’ve used him 2 years in a row now and he takes great care of you. He stops people from hassling you and will do what you want on your time. Have fun!

I took the advice on this forum last year and went to an adult only resort….wow, that’s a great vacation away from the kids. We were able to get out and dance without the bar being run by all the teenagers.I’m looking for some suggestions on nice adult only resorts. (please NO suggestions of clothing optional resorts)

Thanks.

I think its hard to find a place that has remote rooms with privacy and a great night life, but Im working on it.

Thanks Island Girl and Sputnik. Your comments have been extremely helpful

Thanks! I hope you thoroughly enjoy it! I’m in Ottawa as well. Can I ask who you booked with? Can’t wait to hear back from you after your travels. Have fun!
I am looking for a romantic getaway someplace fun as well. I have been looking at Regency and thinking this looks beautiful but I don’t play golf. I’m torn between Regency and Grande.Comments please.

Did you like Grande. Did you go to Regency. I’m in my mid 30s looking for a romantic place WITH some fun.
Would love to hear your experience. Would you go back again?

I am looking for a romantic getaway with my hubbie and was looking at sandals in St Lucia. I am hearing that all 3 have rats and cockroaches. Is this really true?
