If they are in their original containers and haven’t expired I’d take them. The doctor in Cuba can then decide if they are useful.

For our last few trips we’ve booked on-line and have had no problems at all. I find that I now do more on-line research before booking (that’s how I found Debbie’s) rather than the previous process of discussing the pros and cons of particular destinations with TA’s.
We now arrive at a destination knowing what it looks like from the many photos available on-line and what to expect, as compared to what’s promised in the brochures, from reading lots of on-line reviews.

Thick cord. Good to use as a clothesline, belt or to tie-up a broken suitcase.
Duct tape.

I wouldn’t normally drink it but …. I’m going to try it with some nice dark rum – lots of rum, not too much coconut juice.

It was quite different in the ’80s . There were no AI’s; virtually no Cubans spoke English; the food was only tolerable; the rooms were barely furnished; armed soldiers patrolled the beaches (at least at Varadero); no lounge chair wars (there were no lounge chairs to worry about); no water sports; no animation teams, just miles of gorgeous almost vacant beaches, very friendly people, great Cuban bands at the resorts & the same super rum drinks. Also it was normal to wander from resort to resort in the evening, checking out the entertainment and amenities.

Kinda miss the good old days!

First trip was in 1980 for our honeymoon. We chose Cuba because it was inexpensive and friends that had been recommended it. It has remained a favorite location and unless it changes dramatically, we hope to make a yearly winter trip.
Both Varadero and Holguin have changed and become much more touristy. The food and resorts get better every year and many more Cubans speak English.

We’re bringing our own this year. It cost $30 for a stolen towel last trip. And no, we didn’t leave the towel on a lounger to reserve it.

The resorts I’ve been to request long pants, a shirt with a collar and shoes or dress sandels at the a la cartes and evening buffet. The enforcement was pretty lax at the buffet and a bit more strict at the a la cartes, although I never saw anyone turned away unless they looked like they came straight from the beach. Anyone wearing shorts, t-shirt and crocs to an a la carte would look out of place.

The Borat thong. Available for $20 on-line.
I sure hope I never see one at the beach

The photo is from a web site selling the thongs. THAT IS NOT ME.

Picture was removed by Photobucket. Too risque I guess.

Any details about the resort? #of stars; location; size? Are the prices discounted because its just opened? We got a great deal a while back at a newly opened resort and it had a few problems but was well worth the price and would certainly try it again.

I’ve got a pair of those pants with the lower legs that zip off to make shorts. Perfect for travelling south. Lots of pockets for necessities like beer money for the bus trip. T-shirt, long sleeved shirt & rainjacket. Sandals & sun glasses in carry-on.
