Hello! Any recommendations or ideas for a family friendly resort in Cuba. Possibly Cayo Coco? We will be travelling with a 3 and 5 year old. I did try doing a search but it pulled hundreds of threads up!… so appreciate any replies!

Any other tips for a stress free fun family vacation are welcome too!

Thanks!

I’d also like to know how this works. We plan on traveling with 3 adults 2 children and I can’t seem to get any info on this either online.
Anyone?…

Really Northgal? Have been invited to a wedding and the whole party is going just for one week. Is all the travel worth it once you’re there? or does it affect the entire vacation?

Thanks for the reply Ponder! No we don’t plan on any excursions. I understand the limits traveling with children bring! Hope you post a review on your return! Would love to hear about the facilities and please can you post & let me know if you think it’s a family friendly resort etc?! Also if you happen to notice the resort medical facilities/doctor!? BTW – how does Panama compare with The Dominican Republic?

Have a good trip!

Hello! Does anyone have any comments or opinions regarding travelling to Panama with children? Have been invited to a family wedding at the Royal Decameron and are weighing up the pros and cons of going with our three and a half year old. Could any previous vacationers tell me if the resort might be suitable and what about medical facilites/doctor if needed? Do they have email so we can keep in contact with home? Thanks in advance for any help! We don’t know anything about Panama!

Hello! please post a review when you return! Am considering this resort for a family vacation with little ones and would be really interested to know how it goes! Thanks! (or PM me!)

Did you look at Riu Paraise Island? It’s not exactly a typical Riu (as they purchased the Sheraton Grand) but it’s got all the Riu trademarks -great food, beautiful beach and I liked the location.

We were there in June and I think the Riu is a resort where you would feel comfortable. My husband & I didn’t always eat meals or go for drinks at the same time and I didn’t feel uncomfortable sitting alone. People are very friendly.

Food and drink are great! There are three bars – pool, lobby and lounge as well as the minibar in your room which is replenished every 2 days. Riu has food practically all day: Breakfast 7.30-10.30am in the buffet, continental breakfast next door runs 10.30am-12.00pm. Buffet Lunch is 12.30pm – 5.30pm. Dinner is 6.30pm – 10.30pm. then there is a Midnight buffet from 10.30pm – 12.am. You can also get up early and make reservations for the Japanese restaurant, Steakhouse or Gourmet for that night. We liked the Japanese best followed by the Gourmet.Entertainment wasn’t that good but they tried their best. Main problem is everybody heads over to the Atlantis after dinner and so they are performing to a very small crowd. The Atlantis has the Casino, a Comedy club and a movie Theatre which seem very popular.

Have fun!

Thanks! I guess I have to ask for a room with no pool view! Hard to get your head around if you haven’t been there!! ;D

Leedani does the buffet have "set" seatings or can you come and go as you please?

Leedani Ok now I am not so worried about the elevators! Some reviews said there was just ONE!!!
So let me get this straight… if I request a room with a pool view will I be looking away from the "pink" building?!!
Leedani thank you for your reply!Yes we are booked all inclusive for June ;D (I think all inclusive is the only option now?)

Apart from the airducts would you recommend being as high as the seventh floor? I’ve seen some reviews saying the elevators are very slow and it’s best to be nearer the ground so you can use the stairs? I wonder how I could request the side of the hotel that you were on? Hmmmm…. This is meant to be a special getaway for my husband after a tough year and I’d like it to be just perfect!!

Thanks again – I appreciate your comments!

This is really disppointing to hear! I was about to book a few days there but now am going to do some online searching for a few more reviews….

If anybody else has been there yet please post an opinion! Thanks

hatecoldweather if you do go to Riu Paradise Island could you post a review? Thanks!
