Anyone know where we can purchase Rash Guard (or similar) shirts in the Brantford/Hamilton/Kitchener area?I have found tons of them on line but would much rather try something on.
We spend many hours snorkeling and usually wear regular shirts to protect our backs from the sun, but would like to get something quick-drying with sun protection

Hi Lyndsey:We stayed at La Vida Dulce last May and I highly recommend it. It was really nice to have a little kitchen and the location is central to pretty-much everything. We are off to Huatulco on March 22nd – can’t wait.
Haave a great vacation Jill

We’re very lucky here in TO as the prices are a lot cheaper. We leave on March 22nd, staying at the Crown Pacific, and paid $1564 Including taxes for both of us, for one week. It was one of those Sunwing Wild Wednesday deals so we jumped on it.The Crown isn’t necessarily our first choice of resort but the price was right. We were in Huatulco this past November and stayed at the Castillo. We really loved it’s location. We took cabs to the different beaches and could walk to different restaurants.
If you do manage to get a good price it really is a very nice place.

We have been to Catalonia twice and loved it both times – would go back. It’s not fancy but they have some of the best staff we have ever encountered – even the front desk staff are pleasant! The basic rooms are nothing special but they are clean and have all of your basic requirements. We have stayed on the Yucutan side both times, but the other side looks just as nice. The food was very good – your 4 year old would love the Creperie.Neither time we were there did we encounter lots of drunken Canadians – always depends on the crowd who are there during your stay.I will agree that the beach is not the best I’ve ever seen but it’s not that bad either. |

We have also been to both. Even though we enjoyed GBP Tulum we did find it too big for our tastes and wouldn’t return for that reason. Really enjoyed Dreams, especially not having to pre-book the a la carte restaurants – I refuse to spend time standing in line for restaurant reservations on my vacation.

Only been for two weeks once (Breezes Jibacoa) and it still wasn’t long enough!
We can usually only take one week at a time, but try to go every 3 to 4 months. Leaving on Saturday to BJ for one week – can’t wait.

Thanks for the info. Do you remember how much the dives are? Getting excited – want to start packing but it’s still too early!

Going back to Breezes later this month and just wondering if the first dive is still free, like it was two years ago.

Trying to decide between these two resorts.Have been to BJ three times before but never to SLMWe really enjoy snorkeling but last time we were at BJ there were lots of jellyfish in the water.
Anyone been to both of these resorts – which did you prefer and why?

That explains why I can’t find Cameleon on the travel sites after the end of April. We were there last May for our second time and were considering it for our June trip this year – guess will have to find somewhere else.
It’s tough to fill a resort in the off season when only Nolitours carries it. Have absolutely no interest in going to Varadero ………..maybe Holguin?

Thinking of going to this resort in June and was wondering how the dive shop is and how good the diving is in this area.

last time in Cuba we gave away a bunch of cloth shopping bags and they were very well received. The ones from Zellers fold up into themselves and fit into a pocket easily when not in use.

For the past couple of years I have purchased a sunblock made by Hawaiian Tropic which claims to be biodegradable and environmentally friendly – think it only comes in 30 SPF though.
I would suggest having it with you if you visit Xel-Ha or Yal Kul so you can show them the bottle. I had to take a shower at YalKul as I didn’t have to bottle to prove it was biodegradable.

Know how you feel Brunette – we leave tomorrow for Santiago de Cuba – can’t wait to feel warm again!

Only thing I have packed in that bag that isn’t for snorkel/diving is two baseball gloves that I plan on giving away. Figure they should be allowed as they are "sports equipment"

Leaving for Santiago de Cuba on Thursday with Sunwing and wondering if we are able to take our masks, fins, snorkels, wetsuit etc. in a seperate bag for free, over and above the regular luggage allowance.
I know that for a while Sunwing were charging a fee for this but just wondering if this charge has been dropped since the fuel costs are lower.
