Hey WosThanks for posting the link to the diving pictures from Roatan, Honduras.I remember every photo being taken and seeing them again makes me want to go back to Honduras tomorrow for more awesome diving. After diving in Cozumel this year I can say that I prefer to dive in Honduras………………. ‘hands down’!.
I think Honduras will be our next diving adventure ‘buddy’. Freedom Ryder 8-)………………….. |

I have still have more to upload to the album………the pics do look awesome, and the reefs look more in tact and seem to be thriving more than Cozumel. Hey Wossa
I do appreciate you uploading the diving pics for me, I know it is a lot of work. As for the reefs being more intact and thriving in Honduras, compared to Cozumel, you are absolutely right. I think I was spoiled diving in Honduras. It is like going to a 5* diving in Honduras and then diving in Cozumel is like a 2* after the hurricane damaged the reefs there. I did have an excellent time diving in Cozumel but really it does not even come close to comparing with the diving in Honduras. The reefs in Honduras are in excellent condition and have not been damaged by the hurricanes. Also they have not been over dived so they are in pristine condition. As I said earlier diving in some parts of Cozumel was like diving on the moon after it had blown up. It was dark and barren and not much life at all. Obviously the farther you go out in Cozumel the more there is to see but it will take some time before the reefs start to rejuvenate. Freedom Ryder: Have you considered San Andres Island off the coast of Panama for a diving trip yet? If not, check out Big Juices San Andres Island website (thru Google) for lots of info on this wonderful destination. The snorkeling off the beach is the best I’ve ever experienced. |

Hola TrilliumThanks for the advice. I will google ‘Big juice San Andres’ website and check it out.Wossa and I will be heading to a variety of different destinations to check out the Scuba Diving.
I want to head back to Honduras, probably Utila as well as Belize and Bonaire. I have heard about some amazing dive sites there as well as some pretty good resorts to stay at. I certainly will look into San Andres and contact a few diving agencies and find out the scores. Freedom Ryder 8-)…………… |

![]() ![]() Diving with the Sharks was totally amazing. I did get knocked about a bit by a couple of the sharks, but loved every minute of it, jejejeje. Once you get down to about 70 feet you can stand on the bottom or kneel there and watch the sharks for a bit before you get in among them. There is no time to bail once you are in the water. The most bizarre thing that you will have to do is roll back wards off of this little speed boat into the water while the sharks circle beneath you. That was really freaky! The guide that brought us down was attacked a couple of time by the sharks. Once his hand and arm was bitten pretty badly. The other time the shark attacked his head and figured he was food. OMG, apparently the guy walked around for a few weeks with his head all bandaged up. Of course I was not told any of this until after I had surfaced. I want to go back diving with the sharks in February and show the ‘Wos Man’, that there are other things to be afraid of instead of little tarantulas, jejejejeje. Freedom Ryder 8-)………….. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Just reading your post and my heart was freaking beating really fast, I was thinking LORDY B, but if I did it then I could say HELL YEAH!!!! After that I could do anything, but I would be buying myself a new wetsuit Rolling off the boat doesnt freak me out, I actually think thats fun, but maybe not in to the sharks, I might want to be the last one, but the last one might be the one to get eaten….how do you procrastinate like that? FREAKY, almost makes me want to try it, I need to watch it first maybe….ohhhhhh scary Wossa is willing to try this is he… Deputy |

Not too worry, while ya’ll are on the boat, I’ll be "WIDE’ awake on the boat, so have a fun adventure…….they don’t bite much

I am considering staying at the Henry Morgan Resort for 2 weeks in Febuary and was wondering if you encountered alot of sharks while you were snorkeling? I love to snorkel but have never encountered a shark, looking at the photos it kind of freaked me out. While looking on trip advisor and other sites have not read any newly posted reviews and was wondering if you have heard if the resort was still up to the same standards. Is there alot to do there for 2 weeks or would that be too long. 🙂 |

Wow–those pictures are amazing! One day I may get the courage to dive with those sharks! LOL We hope to get 2 shark dives in this year, if time permits. We will also be taking quite a few pictures so we will post them upon our return. There are quite a few groups trying to put a ban on shark diving unless you are in a cage, so we want to do the open water dives before they say we have to be in a cage or we can not go.
Apparently too many divers are getting attacked and end up dead since the sharks are being fed as the divers are in the water swimming with them. Freedom Ryder 8-)……………. |

Here is another link to a shark site I frequent often. There are some very interesting stories on here as well as shark information and preservation of sharks, etc…..
This site keeps me in check and aware of the dangers of diving with the sharks. It also educates me on what we as humans are doing to the shark population. This site can be quite graphic, but informative and not for everyone. www.sharkattacks.com/ Freedom Ryder 8-)……………….. |
