Seastar Inn Resort , Negril – Jamaica Hotels – Debbie's Caribbean Travel & Resort Reviews

January 2003

My wife and I had a wonderful vacation in January 2003 at the Seastar Inn in Negril Jamaica.

This small, intimate resort is not located on the ocean, but rather 400 yards back from the cliffs in Negril’s laid back west end. If you need to be on the water, this isn’t for you, but it met our criteria in every way. It’s family operated (they live on site) and the rooms are more like studio apartments complete with 40 channel cable, air conditioning, wet bar, ceiling fan, refrigerator, couch and chair in some rooms, and a huge balcony/patio complete with hammock. The grounds are like a botanical garden, carefully cared for by the staff. The Seastar features a large pool with swim up bar, full restaurant service, FREE cooked breakfast with eggs, toast, fruit plate, cereal, unlimited coffee etc.

Restaurant prices are reasonable and all food it cooked to order and darn good. The owner, Chris is from Winnipeg Canada and operates the hotel with his Jamaican born wife and a dedicated staff. It’s very laid back, comfortable and relaxing.

Everything is clean and crisp. If you want the ocean, Chris arranges for free beach transfer to Marguaitaville on the beach. There you can swim all day and return on the Marguaritaville bus. We got to know the staff and other guests because it’s a very small resort that provides everything you could possibly want. We’re going back!
