Well after 4 months I finally managed to finish part 1 of the snorkeling video. The variety and abundance gave us lots to look at. And there are still a few fish I haven’t been able to identified yet. For those of you who are curious about the snorkeling there, here it is. These were taken over a two week period in Jan 2015. Thanks MrjarArt great videos. I finally got around to looking at the pictures I took at the Sol Rio Luna a Mars . I will try to figure out how to post a few pics. They are no where near as cool as your video but I enjoyed the snorkelling none the less.

I am in the market for an action camera now LOL. It will come in handy for my motorcycle as well as diving. I see you have a GO Pro 3 . I know they are highly recommended but perhaps just a little out my price range for the amount of use I will get out of it. Do you or does anyone on the forum have any recommendations for a budget sports video recorder. I almost pulled the trigger on a Sony Action cam that was on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart a couple of weeks ago for $99.

Hi CuGeorge, I can’t really make a recommendation as I really didn’t do much research. I was very lucky about a year ago and won the GoPro, which I absolutly love using. It’s easy to use and the interface between it and my iPod and iPad is great. My wife now uses the Olympus TG-2, all the first video is with her camera. ‘m hoping will work better then the last two Fujifilm Cameras, which only lasted two years each. and really only used for snorkelling, I think the salt is really hard on them. Which is something that should be considered as well.

. You just reminded me that I can use my Sony DSC 170 with the diving shell to take underwater videos. It’s old and clunky but still does an ok job ( I paid about the same for the shell than I did for the camera back in the day). DUH me LMAO! I forgot about that. I haven’t used the video mode in ages… just like I forget that my cell phone has a built in camera when a good photo opportunity arises when I don’t have a camera . I will have to give that a go again but I am still in the market for a compact action cam that I can use with a headband/helmet mount and a handlebar mount.

I will read the tutorial on loading pictures to this site very soon.

Perfect condition GoPro2s are listed on KIJIJI every week for $100+. There are also a number of GoPro clones available now for less than $100. Certainly worth some research. What used to be expensive fittings and accessories for GoPro are now available on eBay from the actual manufacturers in China for a fraction of the price for Brand Name parts.
My little GoPro2 has worked perfectly in all kinds of conditions. I have it because I wisely purchased an extended warranty for a Fuji UW that seized 30 minutes after it’s first dunk. Picked up the handlebar mount for my MC for $3/ tax and shipping included from China.

I have a friend that’s using a Vivitar-DVR781 that he paid less than 50$ for.

He takes great diving and fishing videos with it. And at 50$ doesn’t hurt too much if you break it or loose it.
