I’ve used your Dominican Resort Review pages and your Caribbean Resort Review pages before booking all of my Caribbean vacation’s and I am happy to report that I haven’t been disappointed yet in my choice of resort to stay for my vacation.

What I would like to see in a resort is a pool that intertwines throughout the resort with lots of different kinds of vegetation near it – like a pathway, but one that you can swim if you want to.

What would also be an added bonus is to be able to use the pools at night. This has been one big downfall at a lot of resorts I know that they are cleaning the pools during this time but really when you think about it – do they really need 12 hours to clean a pool? Maybe if they only closed the pool for a couple of hours to clean it that would be sufficient but there is something about being able to take a quiet swim whenever you want to and especially at night.

Another idea would be to have at least a half dozen hot tubs around the resort that are available during the day and also at night. Usually resorts that do have hot tubs only have one or two and they are always full of people.

All of this would be perfect at an adults resort that is at least 4 stars, has a la carte dining as well as a buffet restaurant, 24 hours snacks and drinks, and isn’t too expensive – this would be the perfect resort to spend your vacation and would be a refreshing change. Carla
I take at least 1 trip per year and the perfect resort would be "adults only" , have a beach bar and grill, include various bottles of wine for dinner in the all inclusive price, no limit on a la carte restaurants, and rooms with a king size bed. Alan
My friend and I after travelling to a few resorts have talked about this very question. The perfect room for us would be a jr. suite, with some kind of seperate sitting area. We also look for places that have a mini bar/fridge in the room. Things we have had at resorts and really enjoyed have been a coffee maker in the room (with daily coffee, tea etc, supplied); jacuzzi bath, seperate toilette room, a hammock on the balcony/patio, and (since this is just a wish list) oceanview. The best room we have stayed in (so far) has been the room at the Catalonia in Punta Cana. It had the features listed above and was a very good size. There was only one draw back to the room, and that was the fact that there was no door on the bathtub/jucuzzi room. Probably alright for couples but not for friends travelling together. Karin
Fridges in the room; waiter service on the beach; room service breakfast; local coffee (not north american brands) with the coffee maker in the room; ice machines close to the rooms; larger drink glasses at the bars; air mattresses available (and some kind of anchoring system so you won’t float away!!); massages included. I’d be very, very happy to stay at this resort!! Pam
A resort that is not too big: 400 rooms and which is not spread out. A resort that has more than 2 pools, with an adults pool only – that stays open late – very important A resort that does not require any reservations Doris
I would like 2 discos. One with strictly Latin music. And one for those who want to hear other. When I go to DR, I go to hear their music, and it really bothers me to have to listen to American music. If I wanted American music, I would stay in the states! (Actually, I don’t even listen to American music here, why would I listen to it there?) Marlene beach and poolside waiter service top shelf liquor no wristbands, no towel cards (like the Royal Hideaway) Buffet and ala carte restaurants with really good food

A reasonable distance from the airport – not a two hour drive! Small no more than 400 rooms

Wendy Lots of waterfalls, polished marble, all oceanview rooms with balconies, bonfires on the beach at night, and drink service on the beach, lush tropical plants and flowers everywhere. Zero entry lagoon style pools (2), late check-out times available (no extra cost) Late night swims available (at your own risk, of course!!) Wet speedo contests (instead of the typical wet-t shirt) Internet access in each room (available) Wristbands..just make them smaller and of "tan" through material!!! SHARK NETS surronding beach area….just incase!! Pizza and Domestic Beer night!! smaller resort complex, 400 rooms max.

Welcome to "Paradise Palms Resort"

Francis James W – some ideas to think about Meal plan: AI, EP, MAP, etc. Beach access Palapas Watersports Golf Number of bars, restaurants(and type) Room service available Spa/salon Shops Access to airport (how long of a drive?) Number of pools Number of rooms/suites/bldgs. Concierge level service?

Nightlife

Tom Decent (but not necessarily gourmet) wine in the restaurants. Most places, even the expensive Iberostars, have noticably real cheap "carton" wines only. Well-marked foods for vegetarians, and ALWAYS a GOOD veggie pasta (more than just tomato sauce) and pizza. Too, a good selection of not-overly greasy foods and fresh vegetables.

A swimming pool with a deep end and a diving board.
