I am looking at the possibility of grabbing a last minute deal south somewhere.Just wondering from those that have traveled south at this time or year, wondering if it is more couple/family oriented or if there are other singles in my situation who just want to get away during the holidays??

I know every situation is different, but in general do lots of solo traveler’s get away during the holidays or mostly families with kids thing?

I think the only difference is that singles usually have to pay the supplement at AI’s during the holiday season which means many prefer to travel when it’s cheaper, both without supplement and peak season. Sometimes, ya just gotta go when ya can. ;D

I’d call a good T/A and ask if there are any resorts that don’t have the supplement for your dates.

	I have travelled solo at Christmas. Yes, we pay the single supplement, but I have often run into other singles who just want to get away from it all!In fact, i would say a fair number of solo folks travel at Christmas because they don’t want to just "sit around".

I spent Christmas ’08 in a hostel in Boquette Panama, New years eve ’08 at the Hotel Nacional in Havana, Christmas ’09 in a Guest house on Khoa San Road in Bangkok New years eve at the 13 Coins Downtown hotel in Bangkok.

Met others travelling solo & had a good time!
