Arrival:
Arrived around 10pm. Greeted immediately and given cool towel and directed to lobby. Was given champagne. Quick and very friendly check in. She went over every detail of the resort. From arrival to the resort to check in to our room about 20 minutes. Bell boy took to us to our room via golf cart. We reserved golden suite. One week prior i sent an email and requested top floor. That’s what we received.
Rooms: We were in building 7, room 309.
Very clean and spacious room. King bed, 2 balconies, separate sitting area and Stocked fridge everyday. They had champagne and a chocolate cake with happy birthday and happy anniversary waiting for us in our room!!!
Restaurants and Bars: We only tried Italian, French and hibachi. All very good, service excellent. Ate at both buffet restaurants for breakfast. Again, service excellent and food very good, although breakfast is typical, but still very good. First night, we ordered room service, quick delivery, and good. We had lunch around the "lazy river" pool a few days. Hubby had the scrimp burger and I had a sandwich and we split the nachos. He said the burger was the best thing he’s had. Numerous bars. Lobby, plaza, theater, sports, cigar, beach and pool. All very friendly and fast service. Drinks top notch, never went thirsty. Ask for top shelf they will give it to you and they are not shy. Drinks are excellent.
Can’t say enough about the staff. I’ve been to numerous resorts and this by far has the best staff. By day 2 they know you and your drink types. I could go on and on about the staff. I can see why people keep coming back. I for one will definitely come back.
Beach/Pools/Grounds: We swam at the main pool once, enjoyed ourselves in the foam party, something neither one of us thought we’d enjoy. The rest of the time we stayed at the golden pool, due to the quietness and the close proximity to our room. The service around all areas was very fast and friendly.
The beach very nice long stretch of white sand with turquoise waters. You could walk either direction. Waves were big the days we were there but we and a lot of others still swam. Beach bar is a nice place to watch the waves, sunset, sunrise and just chill.
Activities on and off the Resort/Hotel: The entertainment was excellent. Day and night. We enjoyed all shows: pool fun, fire show, live band, DJ and all theater shows. Everything was great and kept you entertained until 1am in the plaza and then the sports bar until 2am. Never a dull boring moment. Or enjoy peace out by the lobby or a nice stroll through the resort. Don’t see how anyone could get bored. A few nights a week locals set up around the plaza. Great deals and unique gifts.
Other Comments: All public areas were very clean. Bathroom was very clean. They take pride in the appearance of the resort. We did two excursions. One to Cozumel and to 5th avenue and the other to cirque du soleil Joya. cirque du soleil we thought was great very entertaining. We did tip, although it’s not expected, we tipped every bar tender, bell boy, maid, servers. Anyone who gave us service we tipped. As far as the dress code, no complaints, we researched before going, and expected it. I find it nice to get dressy on occasion.
This definitely is the best place we have stayed and will come back every year!
