What happen to Contadora Island | Debbie's Caribbean Resort Reviews Forums

What happen to Contadora Island, It was a nice place but need TLC. I did have one the nice beaches I have seen
What do you mean Koz? Is it not in any of the books? I haven’t seen any of them so I really don’t know.

I was interested in going to Contadora a few times…my travel agent talked me out of it both times. Supposedly nothing has been done at the resort for some time and it is not in great shape…a 2 star is basically what he said. I still have it in my mind to go regardless and might within the next few years.

this is the resort www.hotelcontadora.com/ not a good site

Why do you say that koz? The pics look ok…Ive seen far worse than that.

the comment was about the website it self.

the beach was great, blue water, white sand and a coral reef was there

ah sorry koz…read it the wrong way. When did you go to Contadora? What were your thoughts on rooms, food, location, etc etc?

I think the last time we were there was 98, the place was in need of TLC,the pixs on the website looks they have but a little money into it.The one problem if the boat no come they run a little low on suppliesThe tide will go out and the beach become about 20x larger

The snokling is about the best I have seen

Thanks Koz…much appreciated. I may put it back on my radar.

ya I am a bit sad it was droppedI went in 2001 and would go back in a secondThe beaches are drop dead gorgeous and we had great weather in December

ok the hotel is a bit 2 star..but it’s not like I spend the day in my hotel room

Whatever you do, don’t go by what your travel agent says. If they don’t recommend a place, it’s probably because they aren’t getting a large enough commision from the sale, or haven’t been there personally and can’t legitimately recommend a place. We have been to Margarita Island and Cartagena, both on the highly NOT recommended list, and now you can hardly book a room at the Dunes (MI), but Cartagena is off the tour books, and it was wonderful, just not publicized enough. You are doing the right thing by posting here, as you will likely get enough info to make an informed decision.
