I’m beginning my research for vacation in April. My boyfriend and I are in our early 30’s. We enjoy snorkeling and sight seeing. We have already been to Cuba twice Veradero and Holguin; loved it both times. Thinking it is time to try something different any recommendations? I would love to try Costa Rica if I could find a good deal. |

I just got back from Jamaica Ocho Rios and loved it. 5 minutes from Dunns Falls and Dolphin Cove. Loved the tours of the coffee plantation, and Fern Gulley. Some great history there.I’d recommend the RIU Ocho Rios to you. Nice resort, great food, great entertainment, great beach. Rooms are U shaped so you always look to the front, the hallways are at the back. Funny looking out the hallway and seeing what some of the Sandals, next door, rooms looked on to.
Right beside the hotel is Sandals and the Mammee bay beach bar, nice people, Eddie has horses that you can ride in the water, and Rupert we used for our tours. |

San Andres Island is a suggestion. If you Google "Big Juice San Andres" , you’ll get tons of info. Nolitours provides Charters from Toronto and Montreal November to April only. |

Costa Rica is awesome! We went there 3 years ago, stayed the Fiesta Premier Resort & Spa. It is very safe there, you can pretty much do anything you want on you own. The only thing if you are beach people, not so great, the beach is not Caribbean white, it is more black from the volcanos.
I would highly recommed Costa Rica. |

I would definately do Costa Rica again myself if you could get good airfare… we stayed at the Allegro Papagayo Resort and loved it.Downfall is now Costa Rica is more touristy than it was 5 years ago when we were there, air fare alone is over a grand, our whole package pp when we went was 1010 with airfare.Good luck with what you decide,

Someone my wife knows just got back from San Andres and they said the snorkeling was awesome. We have been to 4 central American countries lately and I love the tours, but I don’t think you will find snorkeling. There was a thread on this a while back, several recommended a resort on the Mayan coast as having good offshore snorkeling. This area offers some exciting inland river snorkeling as well, and of course tours also. There is also Cozumel, but again the tours are far away as I recall, requiring the ferry crossing. Phil |

I say Costa Rica as well… we went there in 2006 and loved it…
The thing is prices for CR are increasing so a price that seems high this year will look like a good deal next year or the year after… |
