Some members were banned for good reason. Primarily, they just couldn’t or wouldn’t follow the posting rules.Rudeness, attacks on members- especially some female members, constant harassing, etc were some of the issues that I recall.

Hope we don’t ever go back to that!

You’re right. We don’t need that.

I know that kind of thing is likely going to happen on any forum, and needs to be handled. The task of a good administrator is to find ways to keep it from happening. Sometimes an outright ban may be necessary, but I would rather see diplomatic ways of handling those kinds of things where possible.

	Canuks,YVRck,cubavisitor,iriemon,dax and others let me know what do you think about forum logo now. Are we building nice community here? As forum CUBA got Debbies why not use Forum Cuba logo as we are all one familiy now. I hope you guys like it if not Afro is back!

No objections from me. That’s the one I voted for in Irie’s poll.BUT…..although we are technically all one family now, the two forums are very different in "flavour"! The logos should therefore not be exactly the same because the forums aren’t like identical twins but rather fraternal twins. I hope you don’t intend to have one forum swallow up the other.

In the end Zee, it’s your forum and I’m just your guest so whatever you decide is what I will get used to. It’s the content that matters, not the packaging.

Seriously though CubaJack, I’m all for diplomacy but when a member gets continually harassed/name called/bullied and badgered for months on end by another member, action needs to be taken more swiftly. I’m talking from personal experience btw because I and two other female members who are no longer here were on the receiving end of it. Don’t ever want to go there again! Oh yah and I still have my broom in case you’re wondering.

CubaJack, I worked that diplomacy into the ground with one member. Yes, I know. And sometimes you have to use a bit of gunboat diplomacy. Eventually, banning might be the only answer, but I have found that even some of the crankiest old goats will respond to some straight talk, too. (I know of to whom you refer.)

And, YVRCK, I don’t think that kind of thing should be allowed to go on for anywhere near that long before something is done.

I have no opinion on the logo. Just make sure the bar is stocked and the rum is free and I’ll stick around.

However, since you asked and since I’m a graphics professional :-X, the logo with the afro is more easily recognizable and with be remembered more readily, so it becomes a better marketing tool. Personally, I still don’t care. It’s not what’s on the front cover, it’s what’s inside that matters to the core membership. My vote is: whatever you want.

Exactly that was my point too so I will try to play around and see what I can do to incorporate maybe 2 together and make everyone happy!

No moderator(s) – that was of great interest to me, as they are the reason why I left this forum. so, I will pop in from time to time and check it out. Nice to see some familiar names have returned.

It is always nice to see old members come back and join us as this used to be great community with people that know a lot about traveling and enjoy traveling. Why are selectivedi and CheersTerry registered as “Junior Member” and I am a “Senior Member” when I know that they are older than me???

And not to be a grammar grouch, but can we replace “old” with “former”. The age of the former mods was not the issue.

Unfortunately it is system that counts posts that post Junior Member but I added under former member so people know that you were here before.
