Gettin’ married there April 2008 and just wanted to see what everyone was choosing for their ceremony location..I want a private ceremony, but the garden gazebo, which looks amazing looks a tad small and seems it would be crowded..anyone ever marry in the wedding gazebo? I have 15 guests going and the wedding coordinator said they would all fit, but i dunno….the beach looks nice, but I rather something private and not with gawkers in the background like I saw in soo many girls pics..in their bathing suits and people layed out everywhere, not nice in my opinion…The pool gazebo is way to out in the open for me…Are there any other locations i wonder where you could set up? I dont know..I’m kind of stuck on what to do..any advice on locations would be great!!!

We just returned from the IBV and there were tons of weddings during our stay. One was on the beach and the rest were in the garden.The beach location is not in the middle of all the action. It’s in a beautiful location that’s off to one side of the beach (closer to the Junior Suites).We had our wedding on the beach (in Punta Cana) and I didn’t even notice any of the gawkers (and apparently there were tons of topless women and men in Speedos watching the wedding). And don’t worry, your professional photos will be taken with no one in the background.The garden gazebo has a bridge on either side of it. Your guests could stand on these bridges and still be part of the ceremony. I noticed at the dead-end side of the bridge there was a table set up with champagne glasses, etc. The bridge was also decorated with tulle and balloons.

For our wedding (at the Iberostar Punta Cana) we were able to tour the various places that a wedding could be held before we made our decision. They only needed a days notice for decoration purposes.Another couple had their ceremony an hour after ours at the same location as ours and it worked out just fine.

We chose the beach because that was kind of the whole idea of getting married somewhere tropical. We felt that if we chose the garden it wouldn’t feel like a Caribbean wedding and that we could have had a garden wedding at home. (I know many choose the garden so please don’t take offense since this was only OUR opinion.)

We got married at IV last June. You couldn’t have picked a better place to get married….

There are three locations as you know for the ceremony.

Beach –

Pool –
Garden – We got married in the Garden Gazebo. There were 16 of us, like you, and there was plenty of room. ;D

The bridge is decorated as well as the gazebo. Gorgeous!!!

We chose this because after looking at each venue it does seem the most secluded and private.librajaco:

We didn’t choose anything until we got there. But i would advise you to contact Belkis before hand.

To you both, Belkis is the person all weddings need in charge!!!!! So don’t worry about a thing.

We were married at the IV on the beach. I agree with WPGGIRL as this was the whole purpose of going south, for the beach. We didn’t notice any onlookers during our ceramony. Your only focused on the love of your life. There are going to be poeple around regardless of where you get married, it happens. The photographer at this resort does a great job of getting great photos and he makes it look as if your the only ones at the resort! If you feel better about it, wait until you get there and pick the choice thats right for you. I have a friend going in three weeks to get married there and she has choosen the gazebo. It’s all ones own choice.
