Is May a good time to go? | Debbie's Caribbean Resort Reviews Forums

I’ve vacationed in Panama in April and it rained every day beginning at 3 pm until the next morning. It was a relief to break the intense humidity but you had to do all your "beach and sun" activities before 3 pm each day before the torrential downpour. It was very slippery walking to dinner as all the smooth surfaces at the resort were slick.

I have vacationed at Royal Decameron in April also and I did not have the same experiance. We were there for 2 weeks and had maybe 2 hard down pours (and one of those was still not hard enough to stop us from playing volleyball in it) and they lasted maybe 1 to 2 hrs. There were a couple of times that it rained (not real heavy but not sprinkles) in the evening and that caused problems for the shows at night. I have been to Decameron in other months that are considered "rainy season"= March, Sept, Oct, and Nov and had the same exprecience- some rain but not every day. I agree that when you do get rain it is a nice break in the humidity. I will say that if you plan on doing excursions during this time, you could have to deal with a lot more rain (Decameron is supposed to be in an area that does not have as much rain as the rest of the country during this time). Hope this was helpful.
