Los Frailes is the perfect hotel for those who want to stay in the heart of old havana. You can walk to most of the sites. The hotel was clean, safe and friendly. They have internet and a gift shop. The breakfast for me was perfect (scrambled eggs, croissants, juice and coffee), but if you are a buffet lover you’ll probably hate it. Go for the suites, are the best and there is no noise.

We were very excited about our vacation given our destination and we weren’t let done in the least! Not only the location but also the quality and warmth of the people, along with the confortable rooms, a great hotel. I would go back without the slightest hesitation.

Hostal Los Frailles is located in the heart of Old Havana, just a few steps from Plaza de Vieja – so is close to coffee shops, cafes, restaurants and jazz bars. The hotel has an attractive foyer consisting of a small lounge and bar area, with interesting murals depicting the former monastery. The rooms open onto a beautiful atrium filled with hanging vines. The rooms themselves are clean and attractive with newly renovated bathrooms, tv and air conditioning – but are windowless and modest in size. There is internet access for a small fee and a gift shop on the main floor. A hot breakfast is included and is available at the restaurant across the street. I heartily recommend this hotel. IA & GP

I stayed here the night before I left Cuba. I had a mini-suite. It was a great room. When you go in the room you are in your own world, the outside is totally shut out. Of course you can open the balcony doors and invite the outside in. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I think I will either go back here for my honeymoon or anniversary. We like the small and personal feel to the hotel. The place is full of whimsy.
