Melia Caribe Tropical Reviews – Dominican Republic Hotels – Melia Caribe Tropical

This was our 5th time to the Melia Caribe Tropical. Is it the beautiful weather, beaches, amazing restaurants, beautiful grounds, lucky casino that keep us going back? Yes, but the people make this a home away from home in paradise. Two special people, Felipe & Kelly have always taken the time to ensure our stay is the best. These two guys are vacation concierges, and it’s well worth it to give them your time. Every time we return to the Melia, we are greeted warmly from our friends. Kelly & Felipe checked with us on a daily basis, always with an offer to help in any way. They did this without any gain for them, they truly are 2 amazing young men and we always look forward to going back and seeing them again.

Your Arrival: Arrived at approx. 1:00 p.m., registered and went for lunch at Marketplace.

It was nice to sit in beautiful surroundings and enjoy lunch while our suitcases were taken to our room. After lunch we were pleased to find our room was ready, and luggage was there.

Rooms: Rooms are spacious, the Tropical side is the newer side, but are similar.

What we liked best is the size. Buildings are nestled in amongst the palms, only 2 stories high. You could sit on your balcony and feel like you weren’t on view for all to see. Very private.

Restaurants and Bars:
My favourite is the French restaurant "Ma Maison", my husband likes the seafood restaurant, "Capri". We have enjoyed meals at all the restaurants, we have always had excellent service.

Beautiful and well kept. The Beach is awesome, sand never hot. Lots of pools, lots of chairs, we never had a hard time in finding a chair in a location we liked.

Activities on and off the Resort/Hotel: We prefer to stay on the resort. There’s lots you can do, or nothing at all.

It’s a big resort, so we were never bored.

Other Comments:
I highly recommend the Melia. They even had a ceremony for us this last time, where we got to plant a tree in our name. We had fresh fruit, refreshments, took pictures, and even taught us a thing or two.
