When you consider the reviews online, I think I expected more from the place. It’s not like it was bad, it was great but they should have had something extraordinary. The reception staff was a bit of worry for me because they were not accommodating at all but every other staff I met during my stay at this resort, they came across as nice and accommodating. The beach here didn’t look like it was maintained well, it looked bushy and usually, since it’s not my first time in this city, I have seen better beaches than this. Don’t get me wrong, I had a wonderful time during my vacation in Puerto Plata because there were lots of places to visit such as the museum especially the cigar museum and some mini shops around town. The rooms are not that bad, a bit small but okay and considering that I only spend the night here, it wasn’t much of a problem for me. There are lots of attractions to see in Puerto Plata and do not fail to eat at one of their popular local restaurants while there. The service was great here and the food at the restaurants was alright. There was no beach bar service and that was not good at all, I thought that some of the rooms will have a beach view but no. The beach is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel and that was a problem for me, I may come back here.
