Playa Dorada, the holiday village on the north coast of the Dominican Republic that neighbors Puerto Plata, is perfect for people who are looking for a safe place to take the whole family for a fun, water, beach and sun vacation. I enjoyed Playa Dorada immensely for its endless golden sand beaches with hundreds of swaying palm trees and the Playa Dorada Plaza shopping mall, with fun shops, a cinema and a marvelous bar where after a hard day of shopping it is great to sit down with a beer and an order of Buffalo wings. The Playa Dorada Golf Club is sheer heaven for golfers. I believe that Playa Dorada does lack some Dominican authenticity, which can be easily found in the (nearby) north coast destinations Cabarete and Sosua. more…
