Mid February 2014—–> No great deals so opted for Florida —–> ouch that was way to cold

Last week of March: Usually get amazing deals since the "breaks" are all over and done with. Well this year compared to the last five… Prices are just not coming down…SO now we wait without panic… but man usually we can book in Jan / Feb for the end of March and get super deals. NOT THIS YEAR.

Anyone else having difficulty finding a sweet deal compared to years past?

I think everyone I know has booked a trip south this year to go in March or April, even those who rarely go. This has been one brutal winter. Tour operators aren’t having to cut their prices to the bone to sell. Even March around here is supposed to be much colder than usual. I’m not sure if there will be many seats left for last minute deals

I had found the same thing for Jan and Feb, even back then when I was looking forward to March and April, but now there are all kinds of deals outta Atlantic Canada to Cuba in the $300-$600 range plus taxes for March and April….can’t complain out this way at all now.

ald1, I noticed in the Maritimes, prices drop quite a bit for a few hours on Wednesdays (for some reason), so I’m wondering if it’s the same elsewhere. Prices have been high –and steady– here in Québec (for last week of March anyway).

If I wasn’t booked to go in 28 days already, I would be outta here for those prices!

That is for sure good deal. Of course it depends what resort but just for air ticket that is steal

Airfare alone would be well over a thousand, so yes its a steal. But you would never book just airfare to Cuba outta Atlantic Canada. Would always be more than booking a package once you added the hotel in!

That is a good deal. We met a couple on our last trip to Varadero who were staying there. They absolutely loved it. And it is in the best location of the ‘city’. You should splurge and just go. However, I’m not vouching for the hotel! And I’m not sure that that price includes taxes. If it does – go now. If it doesn’t, give it a pass. If you are able to do last minute, I’d take the chance. Make your own fun.
