After seeing all the other hotels, I am so glad that Hotel Raquel was our home for the week. It definitely had the best character out of all the hotels in the area, with its pillared lobby, stained glass ceiling, and cage elevator, you felt like you were living in the 20s or 30s. The staff was pleasant and the room they gave us (#208) had a nice balcony, as do most of the rooms of the hotel. The location was more than ideal and the hotel itself didn’t feel at all touristy, unlike the other hotels in the city. Kind of just felt like we had the place to ourselves. If I had one complaint, I would say that the breakfast is pretty bad, but the food in all of Havana is really bad, so this comes as no surprise. Definitely stay here though, for this place is a gem!
