Have you ever shipped or mailed anything to Cuba. I did it many times and I used Canada Post. It cost around $25 for up to 2 kg and they receive package in Cuba in about 30 to 40 days. Have you used any other companies to ship things to Cuba?

I’ve always used Canada Post and all my “small” packages have arrived:)

For me same thing Canada Post and never had issues with arrival of the package but was checking if anyone use any other service.

Sent one letter that contained only photos: it took 5 weeks to arrive.
Sent one small package with various items, christmas cards, total value of contents, around 75$. That was 4 years ago, they never received it…

Did you use Canada post to send small package to Cuba? Was anything I inside package that would not pass scanners etc?

yes by Canada Post. Maybe the culprits were enticed by the chocolate, the condoms and the 2 bras? :S

We get mail from Cuba in about 3-5 weeks.

We never, ever, send anything valuable by post because it will be stolen, according to every Cuban I’ve ever talked to.

We use friends and fellow travellers to get things to Cuba. Vitamins and natural medicines are easy to bring.
We did use a funds transfer site, CaribbeanTransfers (before they were shut down) to send money and now use Cell Phone credits as the main way to send gifts to friends.

We sent packages many times and they received all of them. Never had issues of people stealing things but I guess it depends where package goes as well. In smaller cities people know each other and they are more honest while in bigger cities maybe they do not care about others.

Canada Post is pretty much the choice to use when shipping something out to Cuba. Most of the major couriers as Purolator, UPS and Fed Ex don’t deal with Cuba. DHL/Loomis courier does, but is very expensive.

Canada post shipping items to Cuba was reliable for us so far. So we will continue using them. Just we try to stick with smaller packages under 2 kg as it is cheaper to send 2 packages under 2 kg than one that is bigger and 3 kg.
