Traveling with kids | Debbie's Caribbean Resort Reviews Forums

	We are thinking about flying into Liberia (from Chicago) in March and staying at an all-inclusive resort in the Guanacaste Beach area. Any pros/cons of doing this vs flying into San Jose? Are there enough sight seeing options in this area? We have a 10 and 12 year old and I don’t want to spend hours each day in a bus. Any resort recommendations? Thanks.

Liberia airport is definately your best option if you are staying in the Guanacaste area, it’s only 1/2 hour to 3/4 hour drive to the resorts. I believe it’s 3-1/2 to 4 Hours from San Jose. It’s a very small airport, but runs fairly smoothly. $26 departure Fee.Tons of activities in this area, Hiking Trails in the Rainforests, Hiking around open Volcanic Craters, Muds Baths, Surfing, Canopy Tours (a must), Sunset tours, Palo Verde (Wildlife) Tours, Horseback Riding, etc, etc. Check out Ricardo Vargas or Michael Mills for tours, they are private peronalized tours and fantastic!!
