Dominican Fiesta 2015 – Helping the Children of the DR and Fiesta News – Debbie's Carribean Reviews Forums

I’m pleased to report that Dominican Fiesta 2015 was a great success. Mother Nature barely co-operated, but a good time was had by all. The food and company was excellent and I would like to than the Captain (Chris) and Nanita for the excellent pork main course. The directors all spent a lot of time and effort organizing the event and thanks are due to them as well. I would also like to thank all the people that brought salads and desserts. The venue was excellent and we used up a lot of firewood for the bonfires. With the cool temperatures and the threat of rain, the fire was a welcome thing. Fortunately, the rain (pretty well) held off and there were only a few brief showers. Unlike Sunday where we had lots of rain on the drive home.

Special thanks to the owners (Randy and Beth) of Pleasant Point Cottages in Barry’s Bay for their hospitality and special consideration. I had the chance to meet and chat with them several times over the two days we were on the property and found them warm, outgoing and personable. I’m also glad that they had the chance to join us for the fiesta dinner. It was a great venue and hopefully we can do it again.

And for the people that were unable or unwilling to attend, this is a worthy charity that is worth your support. Maybe you will be able to join us next year. The venue has been set but the date is yet to be established.

edit: oh yes, Nanita also made Lumpias (like a spring roll) and they were delicious.
